Lopen posted... On a non tournament note
I went to Evo one other time back in 2013. I feel the EVENT feels a lot cooler this time. It's got like fields of arcade machines to just do casual battles against people and all the pool areas are very clearly labeled. Lots of vendor stands and stuff too. Feels like a real convention whereas last time it felt like a bunch of sweaty dudes furiously battling and people yelling to get the pools sorted and stuff.
If the last one I was at was more like this one I may have come more often. I sorta treated it as an excuse to go to Vegas this time but if I ever go again I may look forward to the actual event a bit more
Everyone I've heard from who's there now has had the same reaction. It was a lot of fun to be competitive at in the past, but that's all it was - focusing on your matches, then just watching other people's matches. I'm glad they figured out more of what it can be. Still a bit too costly for me to return at this time, and there are other closer, cheaper tournaments that also offer what I'm looking for. Maybe someday I'll get back to Evo.
Those 2-2's are good! A lot of people don't even get to do that, so nice job! Hope you have a fun time with the rest of the event now that your brackets are done.
ONLY FIVE CAN LADDER.
