Soul Calibur II has always been my favorite fighting game OST (excluding the Smash titles). Such a wealth of fantastic music.

I watched the first episode last night and as an avid fan of the Fallout series, I was really impressed with the level of detail, not to mention the care and attention clearly invested in it. The pilot read like a bit of a manic, gory love letter, and that suits me just fine. I'm glad something stepped in after Curb Your Enthusiasm to fill the hole in my watch schedule.

This is honestly the kind of answer I was looking for, thanks! Cox tried to raise their bill to $200 this month, and I was hoping to find an alternative for them, since while they've... Sorta embraced streaming, they still like having the option to just throw a channel on that they like, be it History, Bravo, MotorTrend, etc.

My parents also have Netflix and Peacock in addition to this to round out what they want - Peacock covers some of the sports they care about. The price overall is under $100 for more than they had with cable, and they're very happy with that.

My parents use this package and they're very happy with it; as far as I can tell, there really isn't a catch at all. It's exactly as advertised, though the price has gone up over the last two years that they've had it.

I think it's a very "our parents' generation" compromise that is definitely more cost-effective.

I spent two years covering Baltimore's news programs as one of their primary caption writers for WBAL, so this definitely struck me deeply. I'm sure not only is the immediate aftermath going to be crippling for Baltimore, its port and transportation in general, but also the longterm environmental effects could be significant. I'm sure the NTSB will launch an investigation immediately.

President Biden vowed to cover the expenses of rebuilding the bridge, but I can't imagine what the price tag would be, nor the timeframe involved. The sheer scope of that project seems pretty mind-boggling. I'm curious if the funds for this will come from the infrastructure act or what.

This aspect in particular made me feel the need to block him. He's one of the rare net negatives on the board predominantly because he doesn't engage in conversation. Even when he quotes a post, the information he dumps underneath it is largely not germane to the post he supposedly chose to reply to. Someone described him in another topic as an AI poster, and that's extremely fair. A message board is supposed to be for the exchange of ideas, but LMS neither has ideas of his own nor exchanges them for anyone else's.

Essentially, he's bloat on any topic. I'm wasting time even glancing at his posts to see who posted them.

Wow. Yeah, definitely capturing the zeitgeist! When is that, right after 52 and Civil War? Green Lantern is going strong, too, with Hal, Kyle, and Guy all making top 25. Astonishing must've come out, too, with Cyclops, Wolverine, Beast, Kitty, Colossus, and Emma all there (with Nightcrawler, Magneto, Madrox, and Jean). Surprised to see Iron Fist so high with Cage down at 33. No John Stewart?
Astonishing is a few years old at this point and Iron Fist just had the Immortal Iron Fist run come out - that thing was a real darling with critics and fans.

John Stewart's popularity has never translated to comics from fans of the DCAU; I couldn't begin to explain why, but he's just not a comic mover and always has been slotted as #5 even behind Alan when it comes to having an actual comic fanbase!

This is coming out during the tail-end of 52, for the DC fans out there, and in the aftermath of Civil War.

Germane to really nothing, but here's an interesting popularity list from 2007 on one of the comic websites with the most traffic at the time: https://www.cbr.com/top-100-dc-and-marvel-characters-master-list/

While it comes from comic fans alone, it's fascinating to see where Iron Man stacks in terms of popularity for Marvel comic readers as a subset - still at #11 at the time, in the year before Iron Man comes out.

I think the list definitely seems very par-for-the-course by Civil War era standards. Spider-Man and Captain America make sense as the top two, Daredevil as a character for comics readers has always been a real critical darling, and Doctor Doom is easily the most popular perennial villain in the company. The Thing and the Hulk were longtime brand ambassadors, sure. In comics, the X-Men were starting down a real tailspin by this point. After Grant Morrison, a succession of weak runs probably put the highest-rated mutant at #7. Not to mention vote-splitting meaning that X-Men fans would have to divvy up their votes over a large ensemble which hurts each of their chances.

Hawkeye had just died, so this was a huge anti-Bendis vote, I would imagine.

Anyways, it's really kind of cool to see what the popularity of these characters was within the community. Not a particularly penetrating insight for the wider popularity of the characters, but it's pretty cool to look back and see just where the readership base was in 2007, right before the MCU is about to explode on the scene.

I'd say Wolverine is the #2 Marvel superhero
The barometer for the time period (at least in 2004) would be New Avengers #1, which threw away all of the dreck and rebooted with Spider-Man and Wolverine alongside Captain America and Iron Man. Those were probably the four biggest solo title movers at that point outside of Hulk (and Daredevil, who had really been more of a critical darling than a commercial success). They were the merchandise movers at the time, and not comics. I mean regular merchandise - t-shirts, etc.

Ubisoft seems like the next big pillar to fall at the insane rate they seem to be crumbling. Of course, all it really takes is one decent forward-thinking CEO to step in and turn these companies around, but those upper-level managers are just so out-of-touch.

AAA gaming is not going to die; the institutions in AAA gaming absolutely could fall apart, sure, but big-budget games have a place in the industry and it's only mismanagement that will ultimately kill these companies (if it's possible).

I do agree that nobody knew who Iron Man was, but that doesn't make him a "nobody" when it comes to Marvel. Pre-MCU, the average person would struggle to name even 5 Marvel superheroes.
Fantastic Four + Spider-Man gosh that was so hard.

Any combination of five X-Men who were all in movies.

This constant refrain that "nobody could name, you know, the stars of comics that sold millions of copies over the years" and had animated shows and films prior to the MCU is really asinine.

I do think that Tannis could probably be reinvented pretty well by Curtis, and it's tough not to think that Cate Blanchett could turn any role into her own. And if you aren't doing 1-for-1s, those are a pair of actresses that at least give me hope they can cook up something interesting. Jack Black and Kevin Hart definitely feel out-of-place, but there was at least one delivery in there by Hart that felt somewhat Rolandesque.

Greenblatt is going to have a tough time trying to match the manic energy of Ashly Burch though.

Editorial at Marvel seems just so lost. The new Ultimate Marvel universe feels pretty directionless and not really worthy of being a reboot to Ultimate Marvel at all, though at least the Spider-Man presentation is nice for people who were desperate for this in the main universe.
