I think people wanted to see LeBron win because he is good at basketball and fun to watch.

that's all there is with me. plus he seems like he's become a genuinely good guy, as superstar athletes go, and a family man.

I was too young to see championship Jordan, and he's the most dominant player since then. It's cool to see.

2003 NLCS, Game 6. Marlins 8, Cubs 3. The Bartman game, where Alex Gonzalez also blew a surefire double play.

My mom does not fit that stereotype of a lawyer chick because I think she anticipated becoming burnt out and unhappy. She moved to Chicago and became a law professor - she has a very humble and caring nature and that job while still demanding is less competitive and more suited to her tastes.

She definitely wears the pants in her relationship with my stepdad, no question about that. He runs his own business as an electrician and didn't finish undergrad. My dad is not the type of person to concede anything in a relationship, and that's part of why their marriage didn't work. For what it's worth, she took my stepdad's last name but not my dad's.

If you feel comfortable answering, whatever happened with your dad to make him stay at home?

My parents have been split for as long as I can remember. Their relationship was doomed from the start, and rather than try to stick it out they separated when I was around one. Fortunately they made an agreement to split custody exactly halfway, and still keep a cordial relationship. I still spend half the week with my mom and half with my dad - it would have been nice to spend more time around both of them at once, to really get a family dynamic, and to have had siblings, but it's far better than living with just my mom.

Both parents have law degrees and work full-time - my mom as a professor (she hated being an attorney), my dad as an attorney/counsel. They're home enough that I can see them every night, and my mom is more than willing to cook for me and my stepdad. Given the circumstances, I've come as close to a healthy family dynamic as you can get.

I've had the privilege of watching both my dad and my stepdad be the man of the house - my dad has always taken control of his relationships (he has on all but one occasion that I can remember initiated a break-up with his girlfriend rather than been dumped, and he has always been the decider of affairs) while my stepdad allows my mom and her neuroses to be the predominant factor in the house. Two different worlds. Needless to say when I'm bothering my mom by "acting like my dad" I don't have incentive to stop.

I had no success with girls in high school, but this is more due to the fact that I was a "math nerd" from a young age and had little confidence in my abilities in non-academic areas until recently than my parental situation. Being an only child didn't help me much.

I started reading roissy/roosh senior year. I took offense to it at first until I realized that these guys have the right idea.

there's a post on roissy/heartiste called "Overconfidence Is The Heart Of Game". If there's any one lesson to be learned about game, it's that. If you see yourself as infinitely high value, you can act without the deferential and supplicating attitude (especially toward women) that is the antithesis of game.
