We once had Tom Grindberg selling signed work of his at a convention. He's the one that drew that horrendous RIP AND TEAR RIP AND TEAR Doom comic. (I actually have a sketch of Wolverine from him on my wall from 2000). Anyways he's signing stuff next to Tom Smith, a DC colorist who is still a regular to this day (he and his partner Vincent come in and buy like 40 comics a week). Tom's stuff is in color, so it was selling like 5x better. Plus Grindberg's drawings are kinda ugly (look at that doom comic I mean seriously). So after about two hours of Tom selling way way way more than him, he flips out and just up and leaves. For the rest of the day we had people coming up asking for him and we looked like asses for advertising he'd be there. He called before the next convention and asked if we wanted him and we hung up.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Never ever trust the guy who drew THE DOOM COMIC

this kid is so awkward, I think he's mentally handicapped because he only comes in when this short bus parks awkwardly in the parking lot. he comes in every week and asks WHERE IS THE NEW KICK-ASS 2. Then when we tell him it isn't out and won't be out for like a year he goes WHERE IS THE NEW SUPERIOR. WHERE IS THE NEW NEMESIS. WHEN DOES HIT-GIRL #1 COME OUT.

I guess he doesn't have internet wherever that short bus takes him.

he asks the worst questions. we still had nemesis 1-4 on the new books wall, and he was like "how much will you give me for nemesis 1-4?" and I'm like "like a dollar, we still have it on the wall and nobody cares"

"but it's gonna be a movie"

"a movie that probably won't happen"

"but you're missing #4"

"gimme two seconds and I'll order more from diamond"

"oh... well how much would you give me?"

"I dunno, two bucks!"

*he pulls two bucks from his pocket. they're both like yellowish*

"DUDE I WASN'T SERIOUS."

then he ran out. I hate this kid. I wish he would stop coming in. He only buys stuff millar writes that isn't Ultimates so basically like three books a year.
