I bought an HP (HP Envy 14 Beats Edition) a few weeks ago and I have to say it's quite great. I remember hearing some terrible things about HP a few years back, but looking at reviews convinced me that they've really stepped up their game recently. I really enjoy how customizable they are since I was looking for some incredibly specific features and I was able to find them all in one laptop, that looks amazing as well.

I'm not much of a PC gamer, but I did need a decent amount of speed and memory for the audio programs I run so I think we were looking at the same types of computers. I'd check out their Envy line. I think it was basically made to compete with the MacBook Pro so there is a definite focus on style as well as great performance, although not in the sense of gaming.

can someone show me feminist support for banks accuser after it was admitted to be false

everyone keeps saying it but i don't really believe it

I'd have to assume it's because it doesn't exist. Support DURING the trial however would be expected. \

I mean we can talk about what is worse between being falsely accused and actually being raped, but it's wholly irrelevant. The fact remains that over half of rapes go unreported. People are afraid of the spotlight that comes out of most rape trials and a lot of people don't think it's worth it to go through the ordeal for the chance to have the person arrested. Nobody should be afraid to tell someone when they have been assaulted, but if someone is unable to prove a rape has occurred (and it's quite hard after some time has passed), they're going to be seen as a liar whether or not they were telling the truth.

It's a terrible thing when an innocent person goes to prison, no one other than a few radicals (who everyone seems to assume speak for all feminists) is arguing against this. But false rape accusations are "swept under the rug" because they are a very small percentage of all rape cases and a much smaller issue than rape which goes unpunished.

That picture is ****ing stupid and there is no reason to act like this is an "either/or" situation. They are both important causes and I hope that Sarkeesian is able to use those funds to surround herself with the right people so that she is actually able to get her point across in a way that will cause people to see that there still is a problem with how females are portrayed in media.

As mentioned before, I think the Banks case has more to do with the law in general than it does about rape or people's rights. Nobody should be able to get away with that kind of malice without serious repercussions.

Ahh. So it really has nothing to do with men, women, feminists and rape at all then. The law should just be changed for that particular crime, which would have effects on all other forms of crime. Even then, I don't see how this would change much if anything at all. People could still falsely accuse others of crime... they would just have to be more careful in not admitting to it after the crime.

Alright, I'll bite.

I'm not familiar with America's laws... Is there no punishment whatsoever for falsely accusing someone of a crime? I'm not talking about rape here, I mean anything. If you accuse someone of theft , assault, vandalism or... murder, and then admit that you made a false claim, is there always no punishment for the accuser?

Just beat normal for the first time... pretty cool game this is. It only took me until Act 4 to realize that I had been playing on my integrated graphics card the entire time. My laptop has two cards and I had everything on high settings assuming it would just know to use my dedicated card whenever I played games. Since I haven't played a PC game for about 4 years I figured frames dropping when there were tons of enemies on screen was the norm for using a laptop.. but no. The game actually plays really smooth the entire way through. At least this should make my Nightmare playthrough a little more interesting.

Vancouver has some pretty kick-ass tap water... my friends have even commented on it when they've come to visit. I didn't notice how good it was until I went back to Alberta and tried the water after living here for a couple years. Even through a Brita filter it still tastes like garbage.

I love water enough that even when I'm out of the house I'll pay for a bottle of water before I'd ever think of buying pop or juice, so I would probably welcome a soda tax (even though it's not my country we're talking about). The stuff is terrible.

I can agree with that, but it doesn't make her cause or argument any less valid. If she's speaking on behalf of average or even ugly looking women who really receive no benefit from their gender, I don't see what the problem is. If she's saying that young attractive women in our society have it hard, then she's crazy.

Granted, I haven't seen any of her videos and I have no idea what she's on about, but I'm assuming it has something to do with terrible portrayals of women in media.

You can say that being an attractive woman helps her get attention and is partly responsible for letting her generate as much income as she has. But to say she's been gifted $150,000 for her gender is saying that the cause could be literally anything and she still would have generated that amount of cash and interest solely based on her looks.

Which is a stupid and ridiculous statement to make.

If you didn't actually mess the place up or have anything broken or stolen, I'm not sure how it was disrespectful. Unless your aunt and uncle explicitly told you not to invite anyone over I'm not sure how you were in the wrong. I used to do that sort of thing all the time when my parents went on vacation, and they didn't really mind because they knew I wouldn't be doing anything stupid.

I mean you're not going to have friends over there to drink and hang out when they're home because you don't want to be loud and disturb them during the night, but if they're gone and your guests respect the house, I'm not sure I see what the problem is.

But again, if it was implied that you shouldn't invite people to their house then yeah, you ****ed up.

I see where Realo is coming from, but it's pretty easy to see why the laws are the way they are. Those ages of consent are put in place to protect people. I know that sounds self-explanatory, but there is really no other way to explain it. Although plenty, and I mean plenty of people have sex before they're 16 without it having any serious negative consequences for their future, the laws need to exist to prevent people from using the authority and persuasiveness granted by their age to coerce young people into having sex with them.

I think it's weird for adults to have sex with young teens because I can't understand how they could relate to them on an intellectual level... but most people male or female don't come out damaged from having consensual sex in their early teens.

Evil is a state of mind, not a summation of your actual evil accomplishments.

Which is why it's silly to say that anyone is the "most evil". There have been countless people with the same hateful views and the desire to kill. Many just don't ever find themselves in a position to make their dreams a reality.

There is no way that this is a no-brainer. There have been plenty of people across history who have murdered people for being different based on race, religion or any number of factors really, and 6 million or however many that he killed is not the highest number of dead in a mass killing in history so there is no reason to assume he is the worst of all-time.
