I'm fine with Castlevania moving away from Metroidvania -- this just doesn't look that good, at least from the super limited information we have. I don't get why you would do this when LOS2 is going to exist on console. we'll check back on Thursday and see if this looks good, but it seems like it'd be just a shrunken down version of LOS/LOS2. just make that game on console and leave the handheld games to be their own thing.

we just don't try anymore. most board 8 posts, like this one, are 1-2 lines and not taken seriously at all. they're just lackadaisical conversational posts with very little effort put into them.

I think that's okay and somewhat indicative of how long most of us have been here, but if you're looking for a big topic or a serious conversation, this probably isn't the place for it anymore

MGS4 is the exception though, the antiquated third party exclusive that seemed to stay with PS3 almost out of spite (or maybe some kind of contract exclusivity). maybe you expected MGS to stay on the Sony side forever, but I sure didn't!

yeah, definitely. but that was going to be the case regardless of Rising. and MGS5 won't be on this generation's platforms. Fox Engine was a separate announcement to Rising, I don't think Rising was even using it?, and probably isn't now that Platinum's on it.

I think Rising was suggested as a multiplat the day before the conference! I don't think that really moved the dial any more than your average announcement -- like, Gabe showing up at Sony's conference was a bigger 'get' and a bigger deal, I thought.

Rising didn't seem like a big deal at all - was kind of expected, really. I don't think that's any bigger than, say, DMC4 on 360, or Dark Souls on 360.

GTA4's a good get, for sure, but I don't think it was a huge surprise. FF13 was the big surprise.
