If I replay a game immediately, it's because I want to. Why do you care?

Its a discussion topic. I created a topic to general a conversation based on a subject I dont understand, and wished to get different points-of-views on so I could greater expand my narrow understanding of the subject matter.

You've been given several answers already in this topic. Sometimes it's because I like the gameplay and want to play it on a higher difficulty, sometimes it's for completionist purposes.

Again - why does it matter and why do you care?

Why would you choose to participate if you dont actually want to answer the question?

There's a bit of a barrier with starting a new game. Modern gaming has like an hour or two of intriduction/in game tutorials before you actually get to do anything. Instead, I will often want to just jump into something immediately and wail on some baddies.

So why not do something else with ones time? Where does the joy out of replaying something you just defeated come from? Gameplay mechanics being fun? New story modes? New character mechanics?

Were gonna hit that point where our dicks stop working or we just dont give a shit at all.. but until then Im gonna keep fucking to the best of my abilities until I get cancer or whatever

It's generally a positive trait, but most employers want someone who is hardworking and UNQUESTIONING ie a doormat who won't complain to the unions when you cut their wages.

I mean, thats for shitty minimum wage jobs. In general once you get into salaried paying career orientated roles, being non-agreeable is way more conducive to success, and future job growth.

Drinking and cooking is like my favorite thing in the world besides sex

Ill be honest. At this stage in my life I prefer a good meal over good sex.

When you are in a steady relationship you can have sex whenever you want. You can have that shit for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. But ironically enough its harder to actually have a good meal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Dear I say, that in your thirties having sex is way easier that it is to cook a good steak.

Yea. Usually.

Typically it is used as a benchmark adjacent to someone who is not only productive in relation to general society, but also someone who goes after and achieves their goals.

A person whom thrives in the face of adversity is typically a better husband, father, and overall person than someone whowelldoesnt.

Pretty often tbh. Have done an annual complete run of RTCW for like 5 years now. Last time I did it was a no death run for the third time in my playing it.

Older games are quite easy to just play anytime. For newer games it just depends on purely if I had fun with it. Ive probably played through Cyberpunk at least 5 times now. It does stink there is no new game + to that one but you level quick anyway.

But why?

People know this and yet they think it's some how only exclusively to GameFAQs. It's really weird.

The difference that folks seem to downplay (which is truly astounding to me) is that GameFaqs isnt some run-of-the-mill private forum maintained by a couple of dedicated fans.

Its a million dollar website, owned by a million dollar company, that at one point was a top 100 website in terms of trafficon the entire freaking internet.

So whats astounding isnt that the site declined, its that it was allowed to decline without much of a fight.

I rewatch films after a while, due to nostalgia and boredom. But years have to pass me by first.

The only films I rewatch often are my laundry folding films which are, and have been the same for over a decade.

The Mummy (1998)
The Fifth Element
Mortal Kombat (1995)

Things I put on in the background when Im not actually planning on watching or paying attention to the film

GameFaqs would need:

  • a mobile app
  • social media integration
  • an influencer program
  • some type of partnership with game developers that would give users things like promo codes in exchange for pre-registering for titles and opting in to push notifications about said titles.

Those things would both lead to an increase in both profits, and user acquisition.

Increasing both of those things together would lead to an increase in marketing budget, and then we could get the GameFaqs brand sponsoring things like conferences, e-gaming tournaments, and sporting events.

The main issue with GameFaqs in its current state is that its one of many brands Fandom manages and there needs to be a reason to put money into the brand

and unfortunatelybecause the current audience enjoys the nostalgic format, and kind of likes to keep to themselves in their own little interest net bubbleFandom would risk losing their existing audience, to attract a new one.

Its not exactly a risk worth taking at the moment.

This is something Ive always found peculiar. Ive never once felt the need to replay a game after Ive defeated it.

I can understand returning to a game after years away due to nostalgia and boredom, but Ive always found it astonishing how whenever there is a new game released there is inevitably a poll made by a user asking how many times people have beaten the gameand to my suprise there are hundreds of people that have already beaten the game more than once. Some 3-4 times despite the game still being relatively new.

So for those who do replay games immediately after defeating themwhy?
