At a certain point, it got to the part with the sandwalking shit, and I couldn't help but burst out laughing. I'm sure some people think that's cool and creative, but it didn't really do it for me. I just found it incredibly silly.

did you understand why they were doing it? are you generally bored by lore / creativity in fiction?

. . . tell me more!

from wiki:

Peeping Tom's depiction of violence and its lurid sexual content made it a controversial film on initial release[33] and the critical backlash heaped on the film was a major factor in finishing Powell's career as a director in the United Kingdom.[34] Karlheinz Bhm later remembered that after the film's premiere, nobody from the audience went to shake the hand of him or Michael Powell.[20] A later assessment of the film published in The Telegraph noted that the film effectively "killed" Powell's career.[4] British reviews tended towards the hyperbolic in negativity, an example being a review published in The Monthly Film Bulletin which likened Powell to the Marquis de Sade.[35]

Derek Hill, reviewer of the Tribune suggested that "the only really satisfactory way to dispose of Peeping Tom would be to shovel it up and flush it swiftly down the nearest sewer".[36] Len Mosley writing for the Daily Express said that the film was more nauseating and depressing than the leper colonies of East Pakistan, the back streets of Bombay, and the gutters of Calcutta.[37] Caroline Lejeune of The Observer wrote: "It's a long time since a film disgusted me as much as Peeping Tom", ultimately deeming it a "beastly film".[36]

i wonder why the right is so silent about this socialism?

The United States federal government spends $38 billion every year subsidizing the meat and dairy industries. Research from 2015 shows this subsidization reduces the price of Big Macs from $13 to $5 and the price of a pound of hamburger meat from $30 to the $5 we see today

It is a common misconception that fentanyl can be absorbed through the skin, but it is not true for casual exposure. You can't overdose on fentanyl by touching a doorknob or dollar bill. The one case in which fentanyl can be absorbed through the skin is with a special doctor-prescribed fentanyl skin patch, and even then, it takes hours of exposure.

might need to rewatch Dazed & Confused.

haven't seen the others.

Blue Velvet and Muholland Drive are my favorite Lynch movies. i've only seen BV once, but it definitely left an impression.

Brazil is one I bought blind, but I've really enjoyed everything I've seen from Gilliam.

PB is one of my favorite movies, I'm looking forward to diving into the extras.

D&C is another one of my favorites, and probably my favorite "coming of age during high school" style movie.

Giant_Aspirin

i did some digging and found an article that talks about other instances of this happening.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/arbys-freezer-death-lawsuit-nguyet-le/

In 2017, the family of Carolyn Robinson Manghan, a 61-year-old kitchen worker who died after being stuck in a freezer for 13 hours, sued the Atlanta hotel where she worked. The suit alleged there were problems with the freezer at the Westin Peachtree Plaza hotel.
Inspections of the freezer after her death showed the door opened properly each time. But three weeks later, the exit button malfunctioned during another inspection. Two people were trapped and banged on the door to get help. The hotel was then fined more than $12,000 by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration, or OSHA.

their negligence lead to someone's death and their consequence? $12,000 fine. jfc.

it sounds like the freezer did have a latch, but it was broken and the management didn't wanna pay to fix it. so they literally prioritized profits over safety and it cost a woman her life. they should be sent to prison.

so yes, it should be OSHA requirement that all walk-in coolers. etc have a working escape latch.

How many times have you done DMT? Has is it? Does it really only last like 15 minutes?

maybe 20 trips over 10 sessions? when i first found it, i'd have a session every month or so. but lately i haven't really felt the urge to and haven't blasted off in about a year.

it's pretty wild and really hard to describe to someone not familiar with psychedelics. its sort of like living inside Alex Grey artwork. i normally dont see much of anything when i close my eyes (aphantasia), but when I hit the deems i get very intense closed eye visuals.

yeah, it only lasts 10-15m. i peak for about 10m and then come down for another 5 or so. the short duration is why i like it, i would NOT want to trip that hard for hours on end. i keep a timer running on the table in front of me with a note saying "it will be over in 10 minutes" in case i need a reality check to ground me.

happy to discuss more or answer other questions.

Its an indefinite hospital order based on himself saying he thinks he would be unable to stop himself from hacking again if they let him out. Its not a punitive sentence its a mental health issue. He was not even fit to stand trial for criminal intent so reporting it as sentenced to life is poor journalism IMO.
