So easy to just go grab a quick meal at McDonald's after a 10 hour workday especially with a six month old at home.

meal prep. most recipes i cook serve 4-6, and i cook like 2x a week. that way, most of my dinners are just a matter of plating and re-heating.

There is no logical consistency with how I think about spending money. I'll hum and haw about spending 10 for a new lightbulb for my car interior light and then spend 9 on a stupid cocktail.

i'm the exact same way. it's all about perceived value. i'll use a coupon to save $0.50 at the grocery, or use duct tape to fix something instead of spending $5 on a new part, but then i'll spend $2000 without batting an eye to see one of my favorite bands three nights in a row.

Peeping Tom is a 1960 British psychological horror-thriller film[4] directed by Michael Powell, written by Leo Marks, and starring Carl Boehm, Anna Massey, and Moira Shearer. The film revolves around a serial killer who murders women while using a portable film camera to record their dying expressions of terror, putting his footage together into a snuff film used for his own self pleasure. Its title derives from the expression "peeping Tom", which describes a voyeur.

increase in pay usually accompanies an increase in skills required or stress incurred. if there really were "high pay, low stress" jobs out there, everyone would want them. the best compromise i've found is being a software engineer at a non-profit. i make well over six figures, but almost never work more than 40h/week

and then his melodrama about movies, the bad and the beautiful. another awesome unassuming oner, around a minute and a half. great use of shadows. context is the producer and director are making some poverty row horror movie about 'cat men' (obviously a reference to jacques tourneur's cat people)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxDCP6vHXkA&ab_channel=WarnerArchive

the lighting / shadows were great, especially as the guy walked towards the screen in the dark with the source of light behind him. and then the cut to the girl screaming.

i have not, but i will check it out. thanks!
