Most poly people I know talk about it as a fundamental part of their sexuality, like being gay or straight or what have you. I'm not poly, I don't need multiple partners, so the Identity never felt like it suited me. If my primary partner is mono, then I'm mono. If they are poly then I'm poly. I don't have strong opinions about it one way or the other and I don't miss being poly when I'm mono and I don't miss being mono when I'm poly.
You're just pretty low maintenance then, I guess?

I don't think I would be capable of a non monogamous relationship.

Good fucking luck finding that. It is possible of course, but highly unlikely. My wife was a virgin when we started dating, but pretty sure if I was too, she wouldn't have been drawn to me. I feel that 40yo male virgins are more likely to find a more experienced woman who happens to find their inexperience charming because they have had such shitty luck with more experienced men. Kind of like the 40 Year Old Virgin movie :)

I say these things to be helpful, not to be a dick. But I know you guys don't listen. You never make any changes in your life and you will remain the same.

I didn't really know anything about Alex Garland, but that quote does not make a good first impression. The people that have made left vs. right into good vs. bad are the people that use "politics" as a shield for truly repugnant views, not the people that noticed and call them out.
Alex Garland is liberal. My guess is that he wants to make a more universal movie and hope someone pays attention vs just preaching to us liberals who already agree.

Do I miss certain aspects of single life? Of course I do.

Would I trade my family for any of it? Hell no. My wife is the only person outside of my immediate family who has truly loved me for who I am and has no desire to change anything about me. My weird matches her weird, and you cant put a price on that.
Yes, weird matches her weird is a great description. She mitigates my general anxiety and I mitigate her social anxiety. With past people, we would make each other worse.

And my daughter is the greatest thing in my life and watching her grow up is the privilege of a lifetime.
I got 4 daughters. From my first marriage, but my wife adores them.

I spent my entire 20s and 30s with a woman I don't think I ever was truly happy with. So yeah, that contributes. I had to do all my craziness in my early 40s.

Your life is only as boring as you make it ;P get out there, try to find time to vacation (even if it's just driving up for a weekend in a city you rarely go to), look for some fun events. Treat life like you're dating again (but with your SO) etc.

Not married yet, but no. Thankfully that grass is always greener syndrome doesn't really hit me. I'll see women sometimes that make me think "wow she's pretty" but never anything that makes me actually want to pursue them or wish I was single again. I feel incredibly lucky to have found a girlfriend that I vibe with so well and I'm not fucking that up lol

But it probably also helps that the dating around part was very stressful for me. It was fun meeting new people, but the constant worry of if the date went well, did I say the right things, make the right impression, etc., was horrible. I'd rather not have to go through that again if there's nothing wrong with my relationship
Happy you are happy, man!

I have been married for 25 years to the love of my life. I regret nothing and consider myself very fortunate. And yet:there are some things about being single I still miss. There is a freedom to my decisions being wholly my own that I will never have again.

But the positives of my happy and stable marriage far FAR outweigh the negatives. But there is nothing wrong with missing what is lost. Every decision, even the ones that lead to great things, has a cost.

People making major motion pictures should check if they're sourcing from (and thus platforming) blatant propagandists, yeah. There may not have been any malice involved, but the fact they used this guy and it didn't raise any red flags while making the movie is a bad sign. Even if his footage is used in a way that criticizes people like him, that could've been accomplished without using from him and thus giving him a shoutout in a big movie's credits.
Maybe he is trying to make right wing people come see it too? As they should. Probably a warning for all.

Yeah. I tried out a bunch of pics of myself, my wife, and various exes and it was inconsistent. Generally, most averaged around a 7, but the same person could vary from a 5.5 to 7.5 and I didn't see that big of a difference. There is one pic of one ex where I always thought that pic was especially gorgeous. That was the only one to go over an 8. So tempted to show that pic, but I am guessing that is uncool.
