So far the only source is that Nintendo Prime guy. I've seen him try to fight misinformation about the Switch 2 so I sorta doubt he'd lie, but I'd need official numbers. 3 million units on launch day would be crazy numbers.

Maybe so you can sneak more easily since stealth is a big thing, but IIRC crouch walking is sufficient enough. If the mouse makes aiming easier that'd still work great.

Not even counting the hat, their promise to "make something fresh" rings hollow when they release a generic BR mode that looks like any other FPS.

I think Rune Factory and Puyo Puyo Tetris S2? I don't remember if those are exclusive.

It's a mixed bag for me. Not to say I don't enjoy it because I certainly do, but I don't think it's better or worse. I feel that the ability to grind, wall ride, and trick everywhere with the actual courses being designed around that is so much fun and better than a lot of other previous Mario Karts, but you don't spend much of your playtime actually doing those, instead driving down long, wide roads that aren't very exciting.

I knew it had to be an RE Engine game judging by the character models, and Ashcroft sounded familiar, but the tone was throwing me off making me think it was a new IP, lol. Definitely took seeing the broken down R.P.D. building for me to finally get it.

RE9, huh? I know other people are thinking RE6 because of the "high stakes cinematic action" bit but I'm fairly sure the RE team has learned from that in order to not make the same mistake.

Had this same issue but I thought it was an Opera browser issue. Youtube works on Chrome though.

I dunno why but if they had kept her low voice from previous games that look would make me fall on my knees.

Can't believe I'd say this, but I seriously want it to be put on Nintendo Music. I'm aware YouTube uploads exist but these days music uploads on brand new games tend to get targeted heavily for takedown.

I was begrudgingly impressed with the setup wizard guiding me through transferring data from Switch 1. It was seamless and painless. I was afraid Id have to subscribe to their online service for cloud saves to transfer saves.

Beat all the cups on 50CC last night in Mario Kart, had a blast.

Yeah, the save transferring is pretty painless. I have Cloud saves but there were a couple that didn't successfully get saved to there, so someone pointed me to the individual save transfer function and it worked flawlessly.

Some of them do. Mostly games that either struggled to hit a fixed framerate or have uncapped framerates to begin with will automatically run better. Arkham Knight, one of the worst Switch ports ever, is actually playable on Switch 2, but it's still the worst version by virtue of its downgrades. I don't think this affects resolution though.
A lot of games also seem to show improved loading times, so that's neat.

Edit: Also most of the Switch 2 upgrades at the moment are free, so feel free to get them if you want.

Maybe it's because I've played 8 on and off for the past decade(?), but MK World feels very fun. I love the ability to wall ride and trick off of various things and when the game allows you to do that is when it shines. Not too huge a fan of the track transitions though, outside of Knockout Tour they feel kinda boring and the only way to not play them is to do local Vs. Mode.

Yeah, maybe I was being presumptuous on that 90+ track expectation.

It definitely seems like the issue on content is more of a lateral thing instead of literal. Like it's just a different kind of content that some people may not be particularly down for. I do dig the P-Missions though, I always wanted Mission Mode to come back.

Nah, don't count the Booster Course Pass. MK8DX + Pass amounts to more than what you pay for Mario Kart World, and World has more content than "just" the courses. It's not really fair to compare a re-release of an old game to a brand new one anyway in terms of "content" unless the new one is extremely barebones. MK World is not barebones.

Besides...anyone who expected or wanted a brand new Mario Kart game to have 90+ tracks at launch is fooling themselves, lol.

I dunno if it's freshness bias but Mario Kart World is like really fun. I'm enjoying it a lot! I just wish online let you choose traditional races on the courses like Vs. Mode does.

The interesting detail to note is that each player has a single health bar. It's not a case of each character having a health bar, you have to consider it as an entire team. So that might shake things up.

Nah, there's no real way for Nintendo to know when that happens unless you connect online. That post about the console detecting voltage changes or whatever is a load of bunk since there's no logical way for it to determine if it's from hacking or a simple power surge.

Not really for me. I paid like $60 for Metal Gear Rising and it was some of the best money I paid for.

I hope the games all end up getting Switch 2 Editions, changing the Cloud versions into something actually usable.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about the potential bricking. If you're legitimately into hacking, you know that the first rule is to never go online. And hackers are so talented they can get around any other issues easily as well.

That's how this *actually* works, an extremely simplified version of it, but thats what happens more or less. So one person is going to get treatment snd one isn't.

That would be valid if it applied to the majority of denied cases from this insurance company. I've seen so many stories where doctors are available, ready and willing to do the operation needed, only to get denied at the last minute because the insurance company declared it "non-important."

There's a very sound argument for the person being potentially fired just because of the sheer amount of money that store would lose. You absolutely can be fired over one mistake if it's egregious enough.

And technically MK World isn't the only full cart. There's Cyberpunk, Rune Factory, and a couple others available at launch.

Because those people only tried Switch 1 games. The Switch 1 BC requires the update, along with some other features.

But those worried about the console being a brick without internet don't have to worry anymore. You can play full game carts right out of the box.

I'm reading that much of the fearmongering about Switch 2 is being put to rest, lol.

• Switch 2 and its games are playable without needing internet or a launch update.
• Switch 2 Edition carts contain both the Switch 1 version and the Switch 2 version of the games, and can be played on both consoles. It just detects which one to boot up depending on the console.
• Games can get performance boosts even without a specific Switch 2 upgrade. Mostly games that struggle to hit a consistent FPS will now be able to, or games that have a programmed unlocked framerate will now run at a higher framerate than before (like Hyrule Warriors DE). Load times for asset streaming is also reduced (it no longer takes Smash Ultimate forever to load the costume renders, lol).
