Speaking as a writer, I feel it depends on how significant the detail really is. If it's a throwaway line about something that doesn't really come up elsewhere, then I think it's fine to discard it. Better still if it can be spun as something that was misunderstood or misrepresented. But if whole character arcs or major plot events hinge on something being true, it's a problem if that thing is ignored.

Personally, I always try (but don't always succeed) to come back to any little details I might have messed up about and work that error into the story. So, like, if I say at one point that only elves can use a certain kind of magic, then forget all about that and write a dwarf using it, I might then turn around and make it ~a whole thing~ that a dwarf used this supposedly elf-only magic, and what it could mean. I'd go so far as to say that forgetting a lore detail until it's too late to fix it is a great way to add a twist that keeps the story moving~

Not really. The problem is the majority of voters only care when it comes to the Presidential race. In order to get better candidates, we need to focus on local elections, state elections and then the primaries in that order. As soon as the 2024 election is over, we need to start pushing/looking for the person we want running in 2028 and setting up a Congress that will assist them.

Did you watch Black-ish? The only racial stereotypes that anyone could've looked at as offensive were of the white characters, like all of Dre's co-workers.

MAYBE you can make an argument that Deon Cole's character was a bit stereotyped, but it was more about him being stereotypically dumb, and not stereotypically black.

Both the Dre's parents were also stereotypical in different ways. Hell, so was Dre, Junior and Bow at times.

All it takes to never go on a date:

- not being asked out on a date.

- not knowing how to identify anyone interested in dating you or how to actually ask them out in a date.

It's very simple. The combo of not physically standing out and lacking social logistics just works like that.

People understand all that just fine. What's odd is it going on for 20+ years. Those are all things that can be changed/learned.

Yep. Like with just gay rights alone, back when I would first debate whether it's right or wrong (Mid/Late 2000s-Early 2010s), I did calmly explain that various arguments don't hold up due to double standards in terms of what we do permit within society.

And the anti-gay people don't even consider the points, just react with "Still wrong".

Also going to lay this out. Trump winning the White House in 2016 is cause of trying to be nice to the bigots.

Back then even with some of the support for him, some of us felt that in the end that he would never win the election given how bad he is.

But then he still got cheered on even when saying that there are good people on both sides (other side being white supremists).

And for all claims of concern that gay people are predators, Trump jokes in public he'd do.... I mean date his daughter if they weren't related and the crowd yucks it up rather than heckling him and treating him as a spectacle.
