The only thing they do say is they regret using t-word, however it honestly wasn't really viewed negatively on a broad spectrum until like 2016 at best, as it was basically used as an abbreviation, rather than a slur itself.

I remember there was a mild explanation/joke about the word, I forget which show, it may have been a standup special, i don't recall, but basically someone was like, don't use that word, they were like why not, the person replied, because it'd be like calling you blacky, the comedian/main character was like, oh, well that makes sense. Educational humor is the best. For some reason I want to say it was Michael Che, but I couldn't find it.

Its more like using the N-word and that is definitely not some kind of recent development. Maybe for the people not on the receiving end tho

It doesn't end there, coming out this summer creepers are taking the comedy world by storm too. Put your self inside of the "Would you mind if I I take of something while we talk" endorsed by Louis CK. But wait, coming this election season are the Trumps. A pair of creepers made entirely of repurposed human waste. They'll be a hit with the kids.

You should definitely pitch this $100 idea to your bosses before you leave the industry. You can change the world. Or you could just continue to be a coward and not pitch it. I think you're better than that though. I know you'll do the right thing.

Its a balancing act of having healthy communication, working through difficult times, and knowing when some people have a right to certain information when its a part of their story and their life.

Honestly, that's what I think of when I think of comedy that isn't "safe". Jokes that make you say "oh shit!" because you weren't expecting someone to say it.

I personally can see the difference in shock comedy and offensive comedy. I find very little humor in offensive comedy, but can enjoy a comic that sprinkles in what most would consider shock comedy.

People on the left or extreme or whatever, are not against shocking/offensive comedy though.

Theres more than a few hearty servings of transphobia in HIMYM, as well as homophobia. Not being able to repeat those instances is an example of comedy getting better, not worse or being killed though.

This is comparable to how minstrel shows arent socially acceptable anymore, unless you also think that is killing good comedy.
