As for the topic at hand I believe it's intended to be someone who is a homeowner, making "decent" money (like living just fine with minimal worry) and have plans for their future.

You could also assume they have a decent paying job with good room for growth.

The Supreme Court rolled back Roe v Wade, which is actually a really unpopular thing to do for both parties. They continue to make rulings along ideological lines, meaning they quite literally are shaping the rule of law in the country by completely ignoring their political enemy and ruling along whatever their beliefs dictate. They don't care about compromise.

How are we supposed to compromise with that? How does that work in your eyes?

If Japan or Germany had won the war, the entire world would have been one big prison (death)/forced labor camp. Since the Allies won, Germany and Japan thrived through loans and development. It's easy to see who "the bad guys are/were". If Hamas were to win this war, all gays in Israel would be murdered, women would be forced into sex slavery, and many millions more would be killed just for being Jews. And that is the difference.

Talking about oppressed mutants is like talking about oppressed millionaires. You could write a story where 2 groups of millionaires have battles causing a lot of collateral damage. That generated hate and fear towards all millionaires, which is really unfair to all those innocent millionaires that end up the targets of violence. Thats an analogy for how discrimination is wrong but its a shallow one that misses a lot of the root issues. Discrimination and prejudice are wrong but theyre more destructive when they target the powerless. Powerful groups are rarely the victims of genocide.

But Palestinians do have something to lose. They've lost 30k lives in just the last few months. Civilians absolutely have something to lose. If Hamas cares about those lives, that should matter.

People should absolutely put pressure on Hamas (those im Gaza and those leaders outside Gaza) and supporting countries to release the hostages.

If you and your family were unjustly put in prison, kept there, starved, and you sat and watched other families unjustly kept there and watched them die over countless decades, what would you do?

If you heard the wardens of this prison were also allowing people to forcibly evacuate other families from their homes, bulldoze the houses, and sometimes kill them, and then move those random people into them, what would you do?

Lets say there were one group of people that consists of some of the worst guys in the prison, however they were fighting to get out, and you see them as your only means of getting out of this situation other than continuing to sit there and die, what would you do?

They certainly don't have anything to lose. I dont know how you could think otherwise.

Mike Pence is a piece of trash but to deny how he basically ignored Trump's orders and remained loyal on Jan 6th is dishonest. Even the worst people you know can stand up and do the right thing every once in awhile. It doesn't absolve him of his odious views but it still happened.

I hate this framing because it ignores every single moment leading up to January 6th. There were signs after signs that a moment like that was going to happen and Pence had no spine to do anything about it.

If he really were brave he would've spoken to the media after the election that what Trump was attempting to do is dangerous and could lead to violence. He could've disavowing Trump on a national stage. But he's a coward.

Pence deserves no credit for waiting until the last possible second to help correct a situation that he helped create.

Wages and prices skyrocketed since covid and never came back down. The wage hikes were to get people to actually work. At my former job they went from hiring grunts at close to minimum wage to $20 just to walk in the door. Local subway began hiring at $16 an hour in a rural town. Of course they're related.

Subway has had record sales the past 2 years. They make more than enough that they do not need to raise the prices.

They're just doing it because people like you will carry water for them without giving it a second thought and blame it on lower class people demanding more money.
