I don't have the option to do that in America. As far as voting here goes, these days I outright won't vote for either major party (I have voted for the center-left one in the past). I tend to swing between left and right, but I always vote one of the minor parties on the respective side.

Keep in mind it's a set of rules, not just one rule. You must guess the entire set at once to win.

A tip: Try thinking of possible rules and seeing if there are any counterexamples. For example, you could consider if "must have an even number of letters" is a rule. You'd then want to see if any words with odd numbers of letters fit - if yes, then that can't be a rule. Even-lettered words not fitting could just be because the specific words don't fit another one of the rules, so you can't put so much weight on that.

I made several things that can't be posted about here (somewhere between 4 and 20); some from scratch, some by modifying existing models. I also made a paper towel roll holder once. As for things I just downloaded and printed, I printed a comb once when I couldn't find one; as well as printing lots of stuff that doesn't serve any functional purpose (ducks (not a typo), ducks (a typo this time), ...). Tried to print a perch for our cockatiel once, but he would have nothing to do with it.

It's a Da Vinci, quite an old model now (mid 2010s). Modded to get out of their inkjet-style lockin, of course.

I've got it on my list to check out when it releases. Never seen the original so no expectations, just hoping for another good show to watch.

Bit of Googling suggests it's not super common on my model but also that I'm not the only person it's happened to.

If I do have to replace it I'm going with a major brand's device... Heard ROG Ally has some issues with overheating, how about Lenovo Legion Go? (Not considering MSI Claw because they're Intel, and AMD are hugely superior when it comes to the iGPU as well as power efficiency.)

I could almost get away with a desktop and just use a remote play solution on my phone for handheld play, probably. Maybe it's time to go back to desktops. Although I'd still want one based on the mobile Ryzen APUs anyway, as efficiency is more important than raw power for me (to a point, anyway, and the Ryzen 7 APUs with RDNA2/3 graphics are still powerful enough for me; wouldn't drop down to a Ryzen 5 tho).

And it doesn't seem to run without a battery either.

Reached out to the supplier to see if they're willing to do anything. It's technically slightly out of warranty, but consumer protection laws here are generally taken to mean that expired warranty isn't a valid defence if it's a high value product that should be expected to last longer than just a year. Failing that, hopefully I can get a replacement from the manufacturer. Don't really wanna buy another new PC yet. I do still have my previous one somewhere, might set that up again, but it's a major power hog compared to my new one which isn't great considering I'm on solar.

Of course this happens just before the long weekend too...

I thought I had some exceptions but most of them are technically fruit.

With that being said... Broccoli. Not a typical topping, but it works well (use small pieces).

Edit: Spinach. There's a "normal" topping that's good and is a vegetable.

Like many things, it was a cause with good and necessary intentions that quickly got appropriated by scammers and extremists. But even despite that, it has definitely brought a level of awareness that wasn't there before.

So, usual disclaimers first. Game is given as a Humble gift link which gives a Steam key; you need a Steam account but you don't need a Humble account. The game is a mystery until someone wins. If you already have it (or don't want it) you can do whatever you like with it.

For this one, we're going to play a (sort of) game of Zendo.

The game revolves around whether words fit a set of secret rules that I've come up with. Ultimately, the goal is to figure out what these rules are. In order to do so, you may nominate words and I will reveal whether or not they fit the rules.

Each round, you may either nominate up to three words, or make one guess at the rules. Exception; no guesses at the rules can be made during the first round. The round ends when I make a post answering the status of nominated words / guesses at the rules, and then the new round begins right away. (If anyone posts while I'm writing up said post, I'll edit it to include the affected post.)

You do not have to guess the exact wording of the rules, as long as your guess is functionally equivalent. (For example, if I had two rules "the word must start and end with the same letter" and "the word must end with a vowel", it would be acceptable if someone's guess was "the word must start and end with a vowel".) If a guess is incorrect, I will give a counterexample word - this may either be a word that fits the guessed rules but doesn't fit the actual rules; or a word that fits the actual rules but doesn't fit the guessed rules.

Also, to be clear, there is no requirement that the "words" you nominate be actual English words. They can be nonsense strings of letters if you like. Letters only, though.

There's also no rule against cooperating to try and figure it out if you like, but ultimately the prize goes to the first person to post the correct guess at the rules.

Only issue I have with external hard drives is u gotta baby the shit out of em or they get fucked up. General rule of thumb life span 3-5 years for spinning drives. I hear good things about repurposed server drives

3-5 years? I had that 2TB one for nearly 10 lol. Actually I still have it... somewhere... Just no real use for it anymore.

A lot of the time I've encountered broken ones, it's not the actual drive but rather the USB adapter part that's broken. On some brands (most notable exception being WD) you can actually open the drive up, and it'll just be a laptop hard drive attached to a USB-SATA adapter, which you can replace (possibly with a temporary measure) to access the drive again.

I've been thinking about getting something like that, although so far a 5TB external hard drive has done everything I'd need from a NAS (upgraded a few years ago from a 2TB, more due to it showing signs of aging than due to space concerns). Next time that needs replacing I might have a go at setting a NAS up.

It was pretty fun. I eventually got rid of it and got a PS3, but had plenty of fun with the 360 while I had it too.

Keep an eye on Humble Bundle. While the bundles often aren't so great these days, every once in a while an amazing one does come up. They had an RPG bundle a while back that cost me like $20; I spent 30 hours on one game, tried and didn't like a second, and am nearing 60 hours and still haven't finished a third. And then there's like... 7 more I think? Amazing value right there.
