I get where you're coming from, but I've seen a lot of cases where people just genuinely don't realize this kind of shit until it's pointed out to them. Hence; warn first, then quickly scale up if that doesn't work.

Yeah, but it seems like the kind of case where just going to the guy and telling him "hey, this is really dumb and you're gonna have to cut it out" could've worked? Now if they did that first and he refused to stop, fair next on the arrest.

That seems like a silly thing to arrest for, if he owned it legally. I could certianly get asking him to cut it out, but arresting seems a bit far.

I can think of several short-term ones where having a small stash of cash would be handy, but nothing that would require a large stash (unless we're counting cases where it's more targeted at the particular person, eg. if their account is frozen due to suspicious activity).

Zero fucking people are saying to support Trump. The idea that anyone who doesn't support Biden, does support Trump, is all in your head. It is no one's fault but Biden's if he cannot win the election due to his stance on Israel, and it is his fault if Trump wins as a result of this. Not the fault of people who refused to vote for a motherfucking genocide enabler.

Nah, that's fair enough, a lot of people are genuinely unaware of the other groups (or at least the extent to which the other groups were targeted). I probably jumped to conclusions a bit quickly there, my bad.

Situations like these really do show that it ultimately is just a blind support for Biden thing, and Trump being as awful as he is is just an extremely convenient explanation to latch on to (to be clear, I'm not saying he isn't awful, I'm just saying that him being so has been a very convenient thing for Biden's supporters to latch on to). I recall people getting angry at the idea that some people wouldn't vote for Biden in the primaries... which of course, they're now claiming never happened.

No thanks. I moderated a largeish (around 20k users when I joined the team, about 80k when I left) FB group for a few years and that was enough for me. I am still admin of a very small forum but the only trouble that ever happens there are spambots, technical issues, and the occasional post on the wrong board.

Modern day use of the term "Nazi" does not require the specific targets to be the same as WW2 Nazis; just the general concept of having targeted groups that one wants exterminated. And for that matter, the WW2 Nazis targeted many groups, not just Jews (and we have a recent case where someone got suspended for trying to argue otherwise, if you were planning on going down that road).

Being against the Nazis doesn't automatically make them good guys. It is entirely possible - and is the case more often than not - for a war to be bad guys against even worse guys; and the US committed some pretty horrific acts against civilians in the course of that war so they cannot be considered good guys, only "not-nearly-as-bad guys". For that matter, the US didn't intervene because of an altruistic goal of stopping the evil Nazis; they did so only because the Nazis became a direct threat to them. Russia-Ukraine is the only conflict that comes to mind with a clear good guy (Ukraine). I'm sure there are others, but that's the only one to immediately come to mind.

The alternative is Americans getting it through their fucking heads that you do not have to pick one of these two options.

You cannot justify voting for a genocide enabler when you could vote for someone who is not a genocide enabler. You may not necessarily support his actions there, but at the very least, if you vote for him you are at least saying you are okay with said actions (unless you are unaware of them, which you are not). Even if it's more just "willing to turn a blind eye to it", that's maybe okay (and even that's a very big maybe) for a politician who engages in some minor corruption; it's not okay for one who is supporting a fucking genocide.

And what? Biden is not automatically entitled to those votes. Like anyone else, he has to earn them. And maybe, opposing a genocide, or even simply not actively supporting one, would go a long way towards earning them. Acting like he's automatically entitled to them just because another candidate sucks, doesn't earn him shit.

But it's totally still okay to support the guy. /s
