She finished her masterpiece (such as it was) and realized there was nowhere to go but down (in popularity) so she's been trying to find many ways to maintain her status in the last couple of decades.

It's not a unique thing. Happens to a lot of famous people. Some get self-destructive. Some get constructive. Some just... destroy.

This campaign of hers allows her to believe she's helping women while also punishing men. There's no reason for her to bail because she believes herself, if not righteous, then at least right enough to justify the hate.

Damn that last book was a flipping CLIMAX and I read it SUPER fast.

I definitely found the whole project worth it. Was a great new setting with a lot of awesome characters.

My only big complaint with the series is that they tried to be so big and over multiple forms of media that it was hard to come to terms with which books "really mattered". I read all the adult and YA novels and I feel that could be considered "enough". Didn't read any of the middle-grade novels. Didn't read the comics (except for the "Finale" epilogue). Didn't listen to any of the audio dramas.

To that end there were so many characters that in some cases it was hard to find where each character's "denouement" was. Like I feel like Vernestra Rwoh, despite being involved in a lot of books and crossing a lot of media, and despite showing up in Acolyte, just kinda ended up not being used as a character in the final book, even though she was present. I think that's the only character I was disappointed in, though. The three big Jedi Masters, the crew of the Vessel, Porter Engle, Reath Silas, Azlin Rell, and all the villains all got proper closure in my mind.

Was still a ridiculously ambitious project and I'm glad it came together. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a different Star Wars than what we're used to.

Anyway, I was spoiled in two separate ways.

First, when looking up the music for Kong Bananza so I could listen to the lyrics more closely, I was recommended Gangplank Galleon as a related video. Second, I found on Twitter a post that talked about how Bowser and Dedede have been made a bit sympathetic over the years, yet K.Rool remains as demented as ever, and I put two and two together about why someone would be "randomly" posting about K.Rool in the year 2025.

And then what sealed it is that I recognized that in all of Cranky's rants, he wasn't referring to Void. He was referring to K.Rool, despite all the little "details" he gave about the villain applying to both.

So just had my first stream and lol that dub is GARBAGE. I feel like no one really took a pass on the writing before giving it to the voice actors.

Other than that WOW this game is tight.

The last time I properly engaged in this game was ten years ago when I watched the Super Best Friends play it for an hour and I believe my thoughts were around "wow that actually looks pretty damn cool for a PS2 game".

So we'll see how the remaster plays on my PS5.
