I think the intro is around evening since the heist was stated to be at night. And now the dawn is beginning. So theyve been awake for nearly 12 hours. That said, all three of these people seem to be night dwellers - or rather, have no explicit reason to be up during the day.

Played Pixel Remaster. Im glad it changed the remakes tendencies to make it more like the other FFs, which makes this FF even more plain than it already is. I like the NES weirdness. However, it still doesnt do enough and, even with the NES weirdness all in, it still doesnt feel that fun.

Ill defend 2-2 on the Water Rushmore. Its the first major game to establish swimming mechanics as something distinct from regular gaming mechanics. The music is arguably the origin of most water or space VG music in general.

GTA did, in fact, miss a spot due to vote splitting. Midgar was the only lock and Liberty City and Vice City were both solid candidates on their own right.

Pallet Town got some discussion for being a popular vote candidate (especially in the first few posts) and some feeling it's not impressive. I do like the idea of the "starting town" but I dunno. Are starting towns really ever notable unless they end up being the major city of the game?

I jinxed Mario 64, which split up the vote 3-ways. If they combined, they would have gotten on. Now I will jinx OOT, as Water Temple got in easily and Fire Temple continues to come up in the discussion.

My poll reflects this idea about bad video game levels, especially as water levels have a certain reputation due to their arcane and unique game mechanics like drowning, swimming, vertical ascension, etc. Though, I find it funny that Atlantica got on, which I thought was universally hated.

These stage results are gonna have wide spreads.

A lot of really solid options. 1-1 dominated, with Sonic close behind. Midgar is a bit too big for a first area, but the Bombing Mission grabbed up multiple votes on its own right. I ended up just combining them. Bob-omb Battlefield barely takes the last spot.

Mario 64 gets another spot! Will we get a whole slew of Mario 64 stages?

Super Metroid was almost at risk with Metroid NES splitting the vote, but takes a spot comfortably. Despite a few complaints, OOT gets on as well. Last spot was a toss-up where many, many candidates legitimately had a chance, but we avoid a massive tiebreaker between old and new with FF1 and Minecraft.

Overworld is...interesting. I saw one for Zelda 1 too and for Myst. All games I haven't played too!

I feel like it goes against the spirit of the question because it is so broad. Overworlds in general can really be their own Rushmore category.
