Example: Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy; Oddworld New n Tasty Remaster - Exactly or almost exactly the same game, just with improved graphics / audio. Woman here; I don't understand why most men don't pick the bear as well. Last I checked, bears can't shoot you, nor are they racist. They're also a lot more predictable than humans. (Also, people do realize that the question is about black/brown bears, and not polar bears, right?) Campers and hikers get murdered all the time by random psychos or even friends/acquaintences, regardless of sex or gender. Also consider the types of people you are likely to meet deep in the remote woods: Trump supporters (In the United States, chances are, if you're in an uber-rural wooded area, you're in Trump country), white supremacists, crazy survivalists, and people running an illegal drug house/operation. Rural Alaska and many other rural regions of the United States have a much higher per-capita murder rate than many cities.If I were alone in the woods and encountered a person, I would think on the balance of probabilities - man or woman - I'm more likely to get help than get attacked by approaching them. On the other hand, a bear, at best I am going to be ignored. For someone with good wilderness survival skills, the calculation could be very different. --- I fought the Trumble and the Trumble won. |

| Trumble 05/26/24 4:47:47 PM #22 | They're both generic as fuck. Jak is basically Spyro (already in "good but not great" territory) with less interesting characters and slower gameplay. R&C at least has some really good comedy moments, but the gameplay is also pretty meh.
Honestly, I just don't find 3D platformers super appealing for the most part, the major exception being Crash Bandicoot. I do tend to really like 2D ones, which may also explain Crash as it's more like a 2D platformer adapted to 3D rather than a true 3D platformer. --- I fought the Trumble and the Trumble won. |

If so you could chuck that on an Ally X (or other handheld) and get the best of both worlds; the Deck's convenience and user friendliness together with the Ally X's power and battery life. Even if not, in my experience from the Ayaneo 2 it's maybe an hour of setup with free or very cheap apps and you've got something that's very usable in handheld mode for anything that doesn't require much typing (beyond maybe the occasional username or password). And staying on Windows does mean you can dock it and use it as a normal desktop PC too (including non-gaming purposes). random battles can be better, it's just they need to re-think what random battles actually mean for the game itself.I kinda wanna make a proper (not RPG Maker crap) RPG of my own at some point and one idea I had was basically making every battle a boss battle mechanics-wise. I can't be the only one to think that there's no harm for teens to watch porn. I mean, everyone I know was watching porn since the age of 12/13. It would be best to control the type of porn available to the teens else they'd be able to access porn from other means and have access to everything, even really kinky stuff that could shape their view of sexuality in an unfavorable way.I dunno. I think personally, it set up some unrealistic ideas of sex for me, but didn't do any major harm. For context, I first encountered it at 9 but at that point didn't have any understanding of sex and just looked it up because "haha penises and vaginas are funny" (I am now a much more mature person who is no longer amused by genitals, the minimum standard for humor value now being a fart) and didn't really come across the hardcore stuff - this aspect definitely did no harm, even if for obvious reasons it's still not something that should be happening. I started looking at it for sexual purposes around 11, 12, and that's where it's a bit more questionable, although even then - it's not really that it messed me up significantly; just that it gave me some ideas that needed to be set straight. Now, of course, someone else in that situation might come across the harder stuff (especially today where hardcore and worse is more widely accessible), or even if not, may not have the relatively limited response to it I did. I guess I'm more saying, I see where you're coming from, but there overall is significant expert consensus that it's harmful and we should probably heed that even if we personally know or are cases where it didn't turn out too bad; much like how many of us could (and probably do) consume alcohol responsibly but the *potential* for harm it can cause means we definitely don't want kids or teens accessing it (at least not unsupervised), even if we might know/be one who underage drank a few times without issue. --- I fought the Trumble and the Trumble won. |
