When I was young and healthy this wouldn't have bothered me but as I have gotten much older and have some health issues I have needed good insurance and used it a lot over the last decade. Good point here. Im on track to retire in my early 60s but I have a feeling, just with some health issues Ive had in my late 30s, that Ill be tied to a job just for the insurance. --- Hmm... |

Seems good at first glance, but this sounds like the type of thing that could bar even legitimate absenteeist protests. I don't think we need to worry about Oregon Dems doing something insanely evil, but if such a provision was in the hands of a state run by wannabe fascists taking away opposition walkout abilities to deny a quorum seems like it would be blatantly bad. I can definitely see that, but the article did mention several times the amendment allowing this was something Oregon voters approved as well. Whether or not they intended it to be enforced in this way is another storybut I wont pretend to be sad about getting some reprehensible GOP politicians out of office (eventually) and keeping them out of it. --- Hmm... |
