Most for profit schools aren't accredited, ITT certaily wasn't. It might be unfair to say people should avoid schools that aren't accredited, but it's certainly a gamble of sorts to pony up for one.

The name of Omran Daqneesh became known to the world in August 2016 when some media outlets began circulating footage of a five-year old Syrian child apparently injured in alleged Russian Air Force strike on the rebel-held al-Qaterji neighborhood of Aleppo.

And now, as Daqneesh’s family now lives peacefully in the liberated city of Aleppo, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Moscow expects CNN to apologize and to publish a retraction story.

"We still wait for a reaction from CNN, and we call upon the journalists to admit their mistake and prepare a retraction story. Trust me, we’re not going to let this issue slide," Zakharova said.

She pointed out that the news agency needs to admit that either it was an honest mistake or a deliberate attempt at public opinion manipulation.

"The lack of a coherent response from the TV channel leads one to believe that it was a conscious and deliberate attempt by CNN journalists to distort reality," Zakharova remarked.

In 2016 the image of Omran Daqneesh, shell-shocked and covered in ash, was disseminated by a number of Western media outlets as a symbol of Aleppo's civilian suffering, with some news agencies even accusing Moscow of conducting the airstrike that the boy was allegedly injured in.

Russian Defense Ministry’s spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov denied the reports of Russia’s alleged role in the Karm al-Qaterji strike, since the residential neighborhood is directly adjacent to the Russian humanitarian operation corridors for the safe exit of local residents.

Just because it's age means nothing America is still using the mg 34 and mg 42 designs to make his machine guns... Do you not know history and how massively the AK outperform the M16 in Vietnam, you can use it as a bat, far higher penetration and stopping power and of course you didn't even have to clean the damn thing.

The AK-47's 7.62mm rounds do not leave nearly as traumatic of a wound that the NATO 5.56mm does. Yes, the AK-47 was able to penetrate the foliage of Vietnam better, but it literally left just flesh wounds in our soldiers. The ammo of the M16 required that you have a clear line of sight to hit your target, but it was far more effective at killing Vietcong soldiers.

AKs are renowned for their reliability.

With a VPN service, you're paying to basically use their servers(s) which you connect to with an encrypted connection. You then get internet access through that server instead of your own ISP's connection, effectively making it so all your ISP sees is your connection to said server. They can't see anything you do on those servers, or can't see your traffic in better terms, and that's why it's important you get one that doesn't keep logs.

Situation 2: Two white women go to Mexico and steal recipes from women who did not want to give those recipes up. Then they come back and create a burrito stand and brag about the theft. At that point, the bad reviews start coming in from all kinds of people. They probably wouldn't have gotten the backlash had they kept that a secret.

Neither situation involved "crazies." Except for possibly the women peeking in the windows of every burrito place in Mexico.

A Corvallis restaurant owner is apologizing a week after opening up a Tiki bar downtown and being accused of cultural appropriation and insensitivity.

“I unintentionally made a mistake and I’m very sorry,” said Cloud Davidson, in an interview on Friday.

The Hapuna Kahuna Tiki Bar & Kitchen — until recently, the location was Cloud & Kelly’s Public House, an Irish pub — will close Sunday and reopen Sunday night as an extension of the Downward Dog, an adjacent bar that Davidson owns. Hapuna Kahuna started its short run on June 22.

Davidson said that residents of Polynesian ancestry, including those with the Oregon State University Asian and Pacific Cultural Center, complained about a combination of factors such as the use of a Hawaiian name, traditional iconography displayed in a cartoonish way, and how plastic leis were handed off to customers.

“I’m very sympathetic to the issues that were brought up to me. And I’m not for a moment going to tell a person of color that they’re wrong for how they feel,” Davidson said.

There also were grumbles, however, that Davidson wasn’t selling authentic Hawaiian fare.

In a Facebook post apology to the community in general, Davidson said he will remove the culturally significant items from the space, and reopen by 7:30 p.m. Sunday, when live music is scheduled to begin. The Downward Dog extension will continue to serve tropical drinks that were offered at the Tiki bar.

The controversy ended up spurring an interesting — and sometimes confusing — community discussion, Davidson acknowledged.

Some Hawaiians and other Polynesians liked the Tiki-themed bar and didn’t want him to change it, Davidson said.

A local Facebook forum also had numerous comments about the situation, including questions of whether it was appropriate for chefs to cook ethnic food that wasn’t from their ancestry, such as a Korean chef running a sushi joint, since the cuisine is Japanese; discussion on the origins of Tiki “culture” as an inauthentic fantasy mashup of tropical influences, and how there are Tiki bars in Hawaii; and comments on the evolution of Hawaiian cuisine to include items from numerous cultures, including those of Asian and Western countries.

This whole situation is just sad. At first I thought he was spineless as fuck for giving in that easy, but then I remembered this is the left and he probably received death threats.
