I hope that I soon get to rewatch the seance instead of simply hearing the verbalization of it. Oh, my wish is granted. Maybe I can abuse this power.

It would help if I had a layout of the temple. At least they mention it is a great distance between the practice hall and treasure room.

I spent nearly 20 minutes and had to reload my save multiple times trying to figure out how to do the second seance part:
- I first thought it was lack of sight on what Ahlbi was holding
- I then thought it had to do with the incense because I didn't know if it was coming from what Ahlbi was holding (not a treasure box then)
- I then looked at the evidence saw nothing that sprung to mind and went with the pain not caused by Ahlbi or that he swung something.
- On my billionth attempt, it was pain proving that the victim did not lose his life or lost his sight, or whatever.

Was this pool of water and stone surrounding always in the middle of the court? I feel like I would have noticed it when Phoenix entered the courtroom.

Unless the Defense Culpability Act is an integral part of the story that involve none of the protagonists (we know that Phoenix and the gang aren't going to be executed or spend the rest of their lives in a foreign prison), then it means nothing to me.

Oh god, Phoenix had an internal thought about how the people turned against lawyers. I'm not going to like where this road leads to.

As much as I like making fun of Khura'in's ridiculousness, Phoenix is full-blown intolerant and disrespectful of others customs and beliefs. Maybe he should have read up on the country before coming.

Ahlbi obviously should not have known the color of the butterfly on the treasure box. Because that is only allowed by the royal family, I'm pretty sure that Phoenix is defending a serious criminal in the context of this country.

Calling someone a foreign interloper, as the judge called Phoenix, sounds like something that a paranoid traveler is convinced all natives are thinking about them at any given moment.

Something that I have always been curious about is where everyone goes when one person is on the stand in place of another. There's no reason for Ahlbi to be off the stand, but here Rayfa is all of the sudden and Ahlbi has vanished.

Now the only thing missing is context from Wiki's point of view. It is obvious why Jukkie would make this trade, but Wiki's input is needed. I haven't read it if he's done so. What Do I Think Makes Sense?

Patriots receive:
Pumpkins 3rd round pick (via Ravens)

Ravens' 5th round pick
CB Leodis McKelvin

Ravens receive:

Packers or Patriots 2nd round pick

In the first scenario, the Patriots, coming off a 9-7 season and losing Deltha O'Neal to retirement, drop down 19 spots from the late-2nd to mid-3rd to acquire a great rental CB to make a playoff push. That's good value. The Ravens shed roughly $2.5 mil in salary while simultaneously giving the slot CB job to their young, rising player. And because they lose their CB depth and a talented player overall, they move up 19 picks from the mid-3rd to late-2nd. That's good value. This to me is the perfect trade.

In the second scenario, the Patriots make use of their draft ammunition to make a bold move to acquire what could be a fixture in their defense for the next decade. They also receive a mid-round pick so they make the trade without any net loss of picks. The Ravens lose their returner and future slot corner that they spent an early 2nd rounder on. In return, they receive a 2nd rounder not far off from where they drafted him and can use it on whatever they please. By also including a pick, the addition of another 2nd rounder will likely not break the bank. Not as perfect in my eyes, but I can see why it would be made.

Any precedence to this trade?

1. Two seasons ago, the Redskins and Titans made a trade. The Redskins gave up the 32nd and 64th pick for the 9th, 76th pick and an 83, 27 year old CB.

2. Four or five seasons ago, a trade was unanimously vetoed within a few hours by peers that involved the Bucs giving up an 85, 26-ish CB to the Titans for an 82, 25-ish CB plus a 2nd round pick. Stan can provide more details on this if he so desires.

I see that there were a dozen new posts since I last posted. I haven't read them, and I might not read them for awhile. I had already typed this up last night, so I'm going to post it.

My observations of the trade:

1. Darrell Cruz is a 75 and under 25. There are two other FA CBs that fit the description. There are 15+ rated at least 75, and there are over a dozen FA CBs that are 73+ overall rating and 27 or under. Cruz is the definition of a non-factor.

2. There are 0 FA CBs at 80+ and 25 or under. There are two FA CBs with a higher rating.

3. This is not the NFL. This is B8NFLL. A project based on a video game decided by numbers, RNG, and luck. Giving away young, quality players for small increments in the draft (ala Maxwell/Alonso for 5 spot difference or Ealy for 8 spot difference) is not something that makes sense on its own.

4. Ravens have $11.0 mil and no 1st round pick, which means that unless they draft all QBs/WRs/MLBs/DTs, shaving less than $2 mil off their cap will make a negligble impact. They could shave almost as much just by releasing their backup FB.

5. McKelvin is an elite returner (90). The next best on the Ravens is CB Asante Samuel at 76. Not than anyone was expected to know this, but that is what I'm here for.

6. McKelvin is 2 years removed from being selected as the 41st overall pick (by Wiki). While this should never be the sole or main factor in determining the fairness of a trade due to draft picks losing their value once they become a player, it can be used as a supplemental factor. To increase his rating all the way to 81 and somehow turn into a pick that is 22 spots lower than he was selected AND a 3rd rounder is given along with him only leaves me puzzled.

Before I go into a full-blown dissection of the Ravens/Patriots trade:

1. Chiefs/Browns trade is official and the spreadsheet reflects it.

2. The free agent sheet is fully updated with one caveat. There was a miscommunication with me and another user of their plans when signing their free agents. I have agreed to let him have exclusive user negotiations (can't do anything about AI teams) with those players when free agency begins. I will however ask him which free agents he will specifically want to sign, and any that he doesn't wish to pursue, I will add to the free agent sheet should they place among the Top 9/10 or is the lowest-rated player at their position.

3. I also stayed up until almost 3 in the morning frantically doing the draft prospects sheet. I will guarantee it to be at least 85% correct. I know that I got the Top 5 correct. I am 95% sure that I got all the names and orders of those names in correctly, but I probably only got 80% of the projected draft slots correct. I already spotted and corrected to mistakes with the Top 10. I'm sure that a ton will follow. It was a rush job, don't judge me. I will fix it next week.

The victim's name is Mr. Paht Rohl. I spent a good minute or two trying to determine if that is a one. The closest that I came up with is pot hole, but unless the "R" is silent (there's no reason to believe that is the case), then I came up empty.

I finally have access to all the info. This reminds me that I think that Dual Destinies discontinued the tradition of being able to show everyone your badge. I hope that isn't the case once I get to walk around.

Damn, the glare that "Her Benevolence" gave Ahlbi...she's got fucking ice in her veins. While it is clear that she is major character, if only because she is featured on the startup icon on the 3DS home page, I am hoping that by some miracle that she remains a background character that manages to pop up everywhere (regardless if it makes sense in context or not) and gives that look every time someone does something bad or dumb.

All citizens are devout practitioners of the same religion. I think that all Middle Eastern nations are about 90-95% Muslim, so for a country to be 100%, that's some cult-level shit there. This will not go swimmingly for Mr. Wright.

"Her Benevolence" must be referring to the girl from the opening video. In this day and age are child rulers for an entire nation still a thing? Maybe I am wrong in assuming that is a title for the leader of a nation, but they sure make it sound like that's the case.

I have a questions regarding the animated cutscene at the temple:
1. How did nobody react to the front door being loudly flung open?
2. Isn't this place the most sacred building in the land while also a sacred ritual going on with the probable leader of the country performing it?
3. If so, why are the police entering with such force and negligence to nation's precious culture and customs?
4. Why do the police all have their guns drawn in a sacred place?
5. Do they not know how to avoid inciting panic?
6. What do they teach these cops in their version of the academy?
7. How did literally everyone but Ahlbi and Phoenix know that the police were moving in on Ahlbi, and how did they do it with such speed and silence?

I am more convinced that Khura'in actually one gigantic cult...or they view themselves as some sort of joke. Regardless, Ahlbi is accused of stealing some orb, an act that is considered treason.

As I listened to the boring, self-important voiceover at the beginning that is unfortunately common, I realized and had to laugh at the lack of budget that was given in animating what a rebellion or revolt looks like. It makes me think that Khura'in is a sad country where they have a nonexistent or pathetic security department. These "rebels" look like they would be crushed in seconds if anyone put up a fight against them.

Episode 1: The Foreign Turnabout

Wow Phoenix, way to scream "I'm a silly foreigner!" by freaking out when a bovine crosses your path. I know that this boy will be an important character, but I'd like to think, if only for a minute, that he's grinning because he's thinking the same thing as I am.

The murderer, who looks like anachronistic, just mentioned blaming this on a child, so I'm guessing it is the boy or the girl from the opening video as opposed to a new child.

In a related note, I prefer it when they let the player know who the murderer is on the opening case as opposed to later ones (a la Dual Destinies). The opening case is typically much shorter and is used as a tutorial, so making it a whodunit is wasted and you can just focus on figuring out any new mechanics and the proof of how and why they murdered the victim. Taking out the who in a full-length case sucks the fun out of it and causes the case to drag on forever.

Since 2005, I've played seven games from the franchise and have enjoyed all of them to a certain point except for Dual Destinies, which outside of the DLC, I found painfully boring. As a result, I had no intention of buying this game until a friend told me that the case quality was vastly improved.

This is the first time I've done a playthrough topic for an Ace Attorney game, so hopefully this works out. I am generally quite detailed in my playthrough topics, but I focus more on thoughts and reactions to various stuff, often of the inconsequential variety. Like was the case with my Life is Strange playthrough topic, I might not even write much, if at all, about a major plot point because it didn't elicit much from me.
