Tonight we made homemade burgers. I ate beef, my wife's family ate breaded pork burgers. Ended up being a really good meal and then we got to working out how much each burger was costing to make. The pork burgers were literally less than $1 to make and it had 2 slices of bacon and cheese on it. The beef were about twice that to make. All burgers were around 150g and included fries. Have all different kinds of fry seasoning powders as well, the bbq powder is great and we saw a place selling fries that way in Bangkok and it always had large queues.

We just bought a house in a newly built gated community. In total, around 180 houses. Thailand has no law for licensing or anything like that and you can open any kind of business you like.

My wife has been looking for something she can do from home while her aunt runs her store. Can make 200-300% profit per meal. Need very little to start up, just the food and a couple deep fryers.

It'll be pick up/delivery only. Don't need to people eating at my house.

I think it's a neat little idea to supplement our income. Not looking to make a bunch of money at it, even 6-10 orders per day will do nicely to start but with that many houses in the community and 4 other large gated communities within 3km gives us possibly a large client base. We'd just go around and flyer the entire area.

I'm not sure tbh. I haven't really seen much in the way of spiders besides the typical harmless ones. I've seen some scorpions (my friend regularly finds them at his house, his 3 Bengal cats fuck their shit up when they come into the house). I've now had an encounter with a King Cobra (almost ran it over with my motorcycle), a common cobra and some kind of rear fangled viper.

Some really quick breeds probably but most simply aren't fast enough and one mistake against a cobra and they are dead. I did see a video of a bunch of pitbulls fucking with a King Cobra, they kept attacking the tail.

Was just taking her out for a walk. There is a field about 100 meters that is mostly gravel (they are prepping it for construction) but it's surrounded by jungle.

I let her off the leash like I normally do. About 10 seconds later she beelines for something that I couldn't see. When I got near her I nearly freaked the fuck out.

Here was this 5 foot or so cobra flared out and making short lunges at my dog (still about 5 feet from the dog). My dog being the idiot that she is starts barking and bouncing around like a jackass while ignoring my commands. I ended up having to grab her by the tail and drag her away from the snake. Picked her up and backed away pretty damn quickly.

I'll be honest, if that snake would have given chase, I probably would have dropped the dog and let her fend for herself.

You don't need to learn Japanese before you go. I got around no problem without speaking the language. Buying a sim card with a data plan upon arrival is a really good idea. Having GPS and access to Google will come in handy.

I have friends here who lived throughout China for 4 years teaching. They said they hated it but the money was good. Mainland Chinese people are so much different than those from Hong Kong and Taiwan. Kids on the mainland walk around with a giant whole in their pants so they can squat and drop a deuce wherever they want. Very rude (smoking right next to people who are eating, picking their nose/hocking luggies in public places, etc) and will never help a person in need (part of that is due to their fucked up laws though).
