I've always understood being "off the grid" as not being connected to public utilities (water, electricity, cable, internet, etc). You can certainly live that way, but if you own a piece of property you'd still have to pay taxes on it. But I don't consider paying tax as being on the grid, maybe you have a different take.

To truly be off the grid in that sense, you'd have to be homeless. But if that's what you're getting at then I agree. Laws being passed are making it increasingly difficult to be "legally" homeless in the States.

A job I love where I likely cannot afford a halfway decent life? I'd be so miserable and stressed outside of work from having to scrape by, never being able to afford much, maybe not even healthcare...

Whereas a job I hate making that kind of money, I can afford a decent house, car, vacations, leisure, etc. My life outside of work would be happy, and that would make up for being miserable at work.

Not saying the money would solve all of my problems, but it would be much better than the alternative.

Three days after the fact? Mine aren't swollen much past the second day. What do you do for healing?

Usually I go with A&D ointment and keep it covered with non-sticking gauze, cleaning and redressing two to three times daily. Keep that up for two or three days, then I just switch to a nice fragrance-free lotion. Usually Aveno. Moisturize and keep clean for the rest of the healing. Never had a problem.

Still not sure how I feel about the game. Liking it so far but only about a third of the way into it.

But one thing I can say for certain is that the sound design is impeccable.

They use binaural audio, and the things they pull off are nothing short of incredible. Without getting too spoilery (but tagging just in case) the voices Senua hears sound like they're in your head. It's freaky. And I found wind chimes in one level and spent a few minutes just walking around them, listening to the sound change "direction".

Cool game so far. I guess it's pretty short, but it was $30 so I guess that's not too bad. Short games never bothered me, anyway.

Knack is pretty fun. I think it suffered critically because the hype built it up to be more than what it is.

Sony was touting it because it showcased physics and particle effects, etc and "the power of PS4" but the reality was that, while pretty, it was a fairly straightforward game. Didn't break any molds. And it was the "triumphant return of Mark Cerny!" to development (even though I believe he was just in an advisory role), and as was already pointed out the resulting game was just decent, nothing amazing.

I'm probably remembering some of that wrong, but in any case it's a good game.

It's fairly challenging on the higher difficulty.

I like the Batmobile, it was just overdone. And the Deathstroke tank battle boss fight was a huge letdown.

One of my biggest gripes with Knight was the boss fights. There weren't that many, and the ones that were there were just sort of ho-hum.

I liked Origins. Probably my least favorite Arkham game, but still fun. Seems it's pretty divisive among Arkham fans.

If I had to rank, I'd say Asylum > City > Knight = Origins, but I like all of them.

Don't get to go often these days because we have young kids. Last movie we saw in the theater was Manchester by the Sea. Good movie, but holy shit was it depressing.

Usually I pick the movie and my wife goes along with it, but it was her birthday. Tried to convince her to pick Rogue One but she really wanted to see MbtS.

Afterwards she told me she wished she had picked Rogue One. Not that she didn't like the movie, just that it was such a downer for a birthday date movie.

Didn't get to see Rogue One until it released on Redbox.

Since this job is important to you, and you want to land it to gain experience and what not for your career moving forward, I would not mention it.

If this will be your primary job, other jobs will be secondary, and your secondary job should always schedule you around your primary job, not the other way around.

All you need to do in your interview is show them that you're qualified, reliable, and enthusiastic.

When it comes time to get a second job, you can let them know you need flexible scheduling for your primary job.
