| Peridiam 07/08/17 5:59:18 PM #368 | peridiam's BB19 analysis every year i put forth who i think has the best potential to win the game. since BB14 i've been able to predict the winner out of 4 guesses, and one year my guesses happened to all be the F4! i try to get a basic read of each houseguest after about a week in the house, see their potential to go the distance and eventually win the game. BB is much tougher to predict than Survivor, the edit plays no part in it, it's all about assessing what each player brings to the table, where their heads are at, and if they show signs of being a strong player in everything that BB requires. i actually find it more fun to assess BB contestants since the game is totally up in the air and happens live. i think i've been more lucky than good at predicting this but i still have fun seeing how much i get right/wrong anyway. i'm waiting for the season where i completely tank and none of my predictions make it far (this season). this isn't who i think will make the F4, just the 4 i believe have the most potential to win. in order of who i put at the top of the list in previous seasons: in BB14: Danielle (3rd), Dan (2nd), Ian (1st), Shane (4th) in BB15: Helen (7th), McCrae (4th), Judd (5th), Andy (1st) in BB16: Derrick (1st), Nicole (7th), Cody (2nd), Hayden (10th) in BB17: Steve (1st), Meg (8th), Austin (5th), Jason (14th) in BB18: Paul (2nd), Michelle (7th), Paulie (8th), Nicole (1st) --- |

| Peridiam 07/05/17 12:49:45 PM #144 | some minor annoyances: - why are there signposts that don't have any interaction. - invisible walls everywhere - wtf. if i want to jump off a cliff into the ocean, or just around a bend in a city, why can't i? - jumping feels weird. it's very fast. i'm not used to it. - overall movement feels slightly more sluggish than WoW. it's one of the best parts of WoW, the lack of input delay. - day/night cycle. it's too quick. i really like WoW's congruence with 24h clock. - 'QUEST ACCEPTED' for every quest. - lack of hover-over tooltips. - lack of shift-clicking in chat to see who people are. - world map is a pain to navigate. why can't i right click to zoom out? - world map feels useless when zoomed out. it doesn't seem practical. - inability to setup my camera scheme the way i like. i don't want it to auto-adjust when i move, but i also want to be able to press A & D to move the camera left and right. FFXIV allows you to remove auto-adjust but then it makes your character faces left and right with A & D, whereas i just wanna move the camera. auto-adjust when moving, however, makes A & D move camera left and right, so basically i want a combination of these two settings, which i can't find. - congested servers locking me out for days from picking a different server with friends. :( that said, i like: - the animations. the character really feels alive with everything he does. - the world looks good, though i do think some of the characters/cities have this 'lack of grit' feel to them. everything feels a little too clean. - story is more interesting than WoW. low bar there but still, worth something. - combat feels more exciting, but maybe that's cause i'm a noob. but still more exciting for now. - customizable HUD right off the bat. i get why WoW doesn't want to do this, but as an experienced MMO (WoW) player i'm A-OK with moving things to my liking. that said i wish the map wasn't so movable. --- |

I'm looking through the classes, getting an understanding of everything. If I picked Conjurer, I then become a White Mage. White Mage can only heal though? No DPS? Is this kinda like playing a Holy Priest? Arcanist can become Summoner (DPS) or Scholar (Heals), right? So you'd never really rely on a Scholar to do DPS? I'm interested in healing but sometimes I like to DPS too. --- |

You can literally just join a pick-up-group, hop in, kill the boss, and leave in 15 minutes. It's very simple. It helps to know which abilities are the best to use and when, but ultimately it's not vital given the parameters you've set for yourselves. And people really won't care if you're doing terrible DPS in the easiest raid mode. --- |

| Peridiam 07/02/17 3:52:31 PM #36 | I'd say there's around 3 ways to 'conclude' your WoW experience: Stick to Vanilla, defeat the final raid boss of vanilla -- C'thun. The original final boss of vanilla was moved to level 80 content, so that wouldn't be possible with this framework. C'thun would have to do. Although I did notice you guys did TFT for WC3 -- does WoW in this case only represent vanilla? I mean technically Legion didn't exist in 2015 so would you have to do it? Reach level 100. This kinda feels like the weirdest given it's not the end of the game -- but if you're set on not spending the cash for Legion, getting to 100 would be the cut-off. I guess you could join a group and kill the final raid boss (Archimonde) for level 100 content. I think this was the final boss of WoW at the time of the tournament. Reach 110, defeat the current final raid boss: Kil'jaeden. With the raid finder tool opening up each week, this shouldn't be tough to do. It's designed for newbies. From a realistic standpoint, that's where I'd cut it off. Doing Loremaster would be crazy, I don't recommend it. RAF gives both players massive EXP boosts if you play together. It's very easy to breeze through content from 1-100. --- |
