I have an idea, how about you don't engage in sex if you are not married, don't have a job and your whole life is a fucking mess? marry someone who can support a family, or get a job, get an education, do SOMETHING before you spread your legs.

The people in the US need to get their priotities straight. It starts with helping the poor get education and well-paying jobs, not make it legal to murder babies.

Jirachi I think. This is definitely an uneven group. Skymin is one of my least favorite Pokemon but at least if it wins I can pretend it's winning because of regular Shaymin.

I agree with this being the best Halo story (of the original trilogy, at least -- haven't played any others) despite not having an ending. Most everything involving the Arbiter, Covenant civil war, and Gravemind is great. On the other hand, Tartarus is a shit villain (I had to look up his name to even remember it, I kept going "Was it Polyphemus...? No, Daedalus. No, wait...") and the human side of things is pretty uninteresting as usual.

Retaliating against people/entities for completely legal actions is the backbone of conservatism. There aren't any implications there that haven't been implied already, for hundreds of years.

Hopefully this will lead to one of the GOP or Disney seriously hurting the other, but if I had to put money on an outcome, they'll just make some backroom deal about how Disney is allowed to make token inclusivity statements as long as they don't actually push for any real change, and the GOP leaves them alone in return.

It's, uh, bad. There's an infodump in the beginning, another one halfway through, and one more right before the ending, and other than that the plot is basically non-existent. Possibly the worst way to tell a story. Basically nothing that happens makes sense, from beginning to end. The main villain is trash. There's one solid plot twist, you know the one.

I'd have to think pretty hard about whether this is even a better story than Other M or not. Frankly I lean towards not, but I haven't played Other M since its release. Definitely bottom two either way.

To be honest 99% of handheld games before the PSP/DS were pretty crap or forgetful.

That would still leave more than 35 good ones, and if you're off by even a percent or two, it would be way more! I think that actually tracks with other great consoles like the SNES and PS2 as well.

I voted Qwilfish but these are all fine. I'm fine with a world populated by many fish that are not all individually super interesting.

Fates sucks and Revelation is probably the worst of the 3.

I really like Dodrio (it was one of my mainstays in RBY/FRLG, before I started trying to use different Pokemon every run), but... Honchkrow.

Gen 2 rules the roost on this one. I love Natu, it's just a lil orb.

Perhaps I shouldn't have brought up the Eevee thing, the biggest thing I noticed like I mentioned was a ton of Eevee promotion before there was even a mention of the Let's Go games and it seemed really odd to me and then when they were announced, I was like... Ooooooh, of course, now it makes sense!

I feel like Eevee was always popular in the games but only lately (as in, the time period you're talking about here) has it become a mascot for the whole franchise.

Samurott, Greninja, and especially Inteleon are kinda awful, but the rest are fine.

I guess? I don't think being on the boxart is very intrinsic. Being a starter, yeah I'd agree with that one, but a Pokemon fan who doesn't play the games but does watch the anime might not think so. To them "Ash's Charizard" is certainly an intrinsic part of Charizard.

I don't really have a point here, except that like... nobody's favorites exist in a perfectly objective vacuum. I don't think it's reasonable to expect people to try to parse out their ""actual"" opinions from their opinions that have been influenced by dozens and dozens of entries in one of the biggest multi-media franchises on the planet, not to mention 25 years of marketing. If people like Charizard because it's been pushed, who cares. As you said, it doesn't make the love less legitimate.

At the same time, after watching the rehabilitation Incineroar went through I'm pretty sympathetic to Ermine's argument here. If TPC/Gamefreak pushed e.g. Luvdisc really really hard they could probably get it to top 30 in popularity too -- but that's like saying, I dunno, if Tien got an all new Dragon Ball series all about him and a bunch of merchandise from it he'd end up more popular too. That's exactly how you'd expect popularity of fictional characters to function, and I'm not sure there's any way to even avoid it if you wanted to.
