it's hilarious plotting out the Clandestines story keeping in mind they span 3 episodes: introduces as friends, start a wedding massacre, get arrested, break out, attack Kamala in a secret Pakistan hideout, die

I was absolutely thrilled with the first two eps but by the end I gotta say this is easily the worst D+ MCU. I still like Kamala though so I'm just hoping the finale can at least give me a mindless good time watching her out in full force and suited up.

as a non-American I have to say that the need for non-Americans to pat themselves on the back for not being the US is incredibly annoying and fosters complacency

hear it all the time about people dismissing racism/xenophobia as a problem in Canada by saying "we're not the Americans" meanwhile shit like the niqab debate strongly resonated with voters in the 2015 election, not to mention the active and inactive treatment of indigenous populations

I'm thankful that Canadian politics has stayed away from anti-trans rhetoric, but even still knowing how much Canadians supplement their media intake from both the US & UK (mostly the former) I absolutely dread where we'll be come the next federal election season (ignoring provincial elections that literally nobody pays any attention to).

Just focusing on either one of those plots would've helped a lot but I think Pakistan/Clandestines would've been better suited for a season two to explore. First season could've just been about becoming a low-level teenage superhero in New Jersey then ended with a tease of her deeper background to explore next time.

it's kinda annoying to start with a global destruction plot for a teen supe, contrast that with Homecoming that was about a father's black market alien weapon sales to provide for his family

I guess it would be hard though to setup a season 2 Clandestines plot since this is already supposed to be going directly into The Marvels

it cemented that we're at least adapting Inhumans in some manner... how much so / how familiar still remains to be seen but that was 100% definitely at the very least *inspired* by terrigenesis/inhumans. Unfortunately I can't really expect the finale to clear this up any further though what with the Clandestines/Noor part of the plot just dying today.

One theory I actually liked from New Rockstars (an absolute rarity from their usual theories, from MT no less) was the light wave stuff possibly being adapted as the "source" for terrigen mist kinda technology. Playing off a bit with how the MCU kinda combines magic and technology, so the Kree could've discovered this Noor light, experimented with it, and created all sorts of tech around it including the bangles and possible even terrigen crystals sourced from this extra-dimensional light.

also agree with loving Kamala's mom's reaction to finding out about her powers

one more thing though it now makes even less sense that Aisha is so strongly reviled by future generations as a delinquent...... where does that reputation come from if she just lived a seemingly isolated life and died. Like... as far as anyone would be concerned... she got lost in the partition and was never heard from again. And people just make up awful awful rumours against her for that, wtf?

yeah this was killing me, I just had no reason at all to care for it... Aisha met someone and started a family... I mean yeah? We know that by the fact of Kamala's family existing, what of it? Then the plot of Najma finding her, Aisha going into hiding, winding up killing her... it's all just so cliched and predictable, or just plain derivable from what we already knew. There's literally nothing interesting about this story and just didn't gain anything from it.

and that's the half of the ep I've actually seen praise for, and then there's the other half that just throws away everything the show has been doing. Like this could've been the finale, a shitty one sure, but it feels like the story just ended here. Now we have to just jump back to NJ and quickly scavenge up a new plot to close off on. I get comments I see saying Clandestines sucked anyways, but just abruptly cutting off their story like this is insanity and it's not like a quick final episode swap back to DoDC is any good at all, the show's failed to build them up into anything good either.

I've been loving the show to start with but it's just gone completely downhill and now this episode in particular is such a massive drop, just before the finale now which I can't imagine being any good because there's just nothing that's built up to it. Like at best I can get excited for Kamala being in top-form and suited up with her final outfit but even that's insane because what the hell time does she have to casually put all the different pieces of it together with the vest/scarf/necklace before flying back to the mess waiting for her in NJ?

• DS i got the Mario Kart DS bundle, just barely after the first year, holiday 2005. I skipped DS Lite but that then convinced me to snag DSi soon as it came
• Wii, and every Nintendo afterwards: launch day. Wii was the first system I bought myself and I kept it up since... Wii being the only one I had to physically wait in line for. 3DS I preordered at EB Games, Wii U ordered online BestBuy, Switch online Yodobashi Camera.
• PS2 sent by Zea wayyy later than my Wii
• PS3 when my brother's ex broke the PS2, which as mentioned, was years after Wii
• 360 brother got around Vesperia time
• *edit* oh right Vita I caved in peer pressure rationalized with "well I never had a PSP", got at launch

although I will say the first half of ep4 has a big problem with filming in darkness, I couldn't see shit for much of it.

stranger things beated, cool show

Vecna's great although wew kind of a tiring amount of exposition in the last few episodes. Sad about Eddie, season did well getting him to grow on me (although Steve's the GOAT for this, just keep him away from Nancy yeesh) and damn, Eddie's father's despair has been heartbreaking. Laughed my ass off at Jason's death lmao just thinking oh wow really that's it for him huh, I had to rewind to see that actually happened.

Literally just that, he did nothing the whole season.

He knew (and saw, on multiples ocassions) that Eleven was being bullied and did literally nothing to help. He could've stood up for her, or hell, at least go to his mom and tell her what was going on. But nothing.

Once Mike arrived, all he did was act all weird and awkward while tagging along with his friends. And he didn't even open up to his best friend until Vol. 2 (kind of, sort of).

It's like the writers don't even know what to do with him anymore.

And yes, I know what's being foreshadowed about his sexual orientation and what not. But it went nowhere this season.

tbh I've been feeling that way about both Will & Mike since season 3, that the show's kinda forgotten what to do with them
