i still haven't played the Yuffie stuff. i loved FF7R when it came out. i got a ps5 so i thought id play it again in glorious 60fps or whatever, but quickly lost interest

is the yuffie stuff good?

I didn't really get to play it but from what I saw Yuffie looks super fun. Can do close-combat and ranged, has better aerial combat than the other characters, and she can do Chrono Trigger-esque dual techs with her partner. She's so good she's probably gonna get nerfed so she's more specialized in one thing in Rebirth, lol.

It's not nearly as horrible as people said it was, but it IS a disappointment and doesn't live up to Dead Space.

I think he was at least supposed to be force sensitive and possibly have his growth as a Jedi alongside Rey.

Well, the other 20% was actual gameplay, but yes, I did buy the true ending, and I did love my time. I really wish they didn't lock the true ending behind DLC though. I read a story that they were planning a sequel but sales didn't do so well, so they decided to just wrap up the story with a DLC chapter...dunno how true that is though.

If the game got a remaster with all its DLC content packed in I'd heavily consider getting that.

Tbh other games that I really liked also tried to do the "TV Show" story structure before, so I'm curious to see what exactly he's talking about. Some of the games have been cited here, but another one is Asura's Wrath. It felt like a playable anime with how the story was structured: split into chapters and called "Episodes", each one starts with a teaser for the chapter, each one has a "commercial break" moment (except there's no commercials of course), and then credits at the end of each one.

Had such a blast playing that game even though the gameplay was 80% QTE.

Yeah it's very expensive. It's a big set though. The only thing with collecting LEGO is that you'll need a lot of dispensable income. There's a huge Eiffel Tower set that's almost like $1k I think.

The older I get the more cringeworthy I find those Facebook image posts to be.

Built the DeLorean BttF set that I got for Christmas. Took a long time but it really felt nostalgic in a way...if I had a spare room I'd put shelves to collect and display LEGO and make it another hobby.

This game looks gorgeous and they're having Yasunori Mitsuda co-composing with a SNES-era style for the soundtrack. They're the same developers who made The Messenger, if you're familiar with that.

Yeah I've been hearing lots of great things about it. I'll keep it in mind since I've got so many other things I'm playing right now.

Unironically yeah. It seems to have more flavor to me. Then again it's probably way higher in sodium.

I absolutely loved FF7 Remake (and the original back in the day) and would like to play this as well if it doesn't frustrate the hell out of me.

The gameplay and graphical improvements make it entirely worth it, IMO. Combat now feels like you're essentially playing FFVII Remake.

I've always felt that making a 3D game with visuals based off of Terada's artwork would be amazing. There'd probably be a bit of an issue with visibility but that can be tweaked.

This topic feels like revisionist history...I thought MGS was a well-regarded series, at least up until MGS4 got released.

After reading the list of improvements and seeing about an hour of footage from it, I can safely say that CC Reunion has made Crisis Core actually worth playing. Story still sucks, but hey, it's fun now.

The only way he would do that kind of poll is if he knew he had countless bots preventing Yes from winning.

Just have to say it. TROS and other Star Wars media should've explained better why it can't be replicated other than it being "one in a million", but it was great to watch.

Game was fantastic, but I do understand the complaints about the counter. It's fine if it's completely optional but they absolutely do require it on some bosses. Samus Returns was worse about this because enemies usually attacked you as soon as they came up on-screen and essentially required you to use the counter at all times since they took so much punishment otherwise.

It's still around and open.

Well, every game board really, but every time I feel like engaging in some discussion about the latest Sonic game, I go there and get reminded why anybody's forbidden to like anything about Sonic these days.

It's like, I'd rather just be a Sonic fan by myself and not engage with any sort of discussion if this is the kind of toxicity that's in the fanbase now.

It's because Spider-Man's powers don't actually have anything to do with spiders, ironically enough. Instead of having tensile gripping hairs, he actually is just able to subatomically grip onto any surface with any part of his body.

Must feel really good to the developers for their game to be considered canon in the Spider-verse. Happy for them too, it was a great game.

After beating the game, I realized that you get entirely different dialogue for clearing side content in the post-game. Try freeing the second octopus creature before beating the game to get a very touching scene that you'll miss out on if you just clear it with Freya.

I would think the person who says that unironically doesn't understand either person to make that comparison.

I only saw Maximillian_Dood play this game and one of the biggest things I noticed was that the game lacks any kind of "hit stun" letting you know if you're getting hurt or if you're hitting the enemy.

That's a bit of a red flag. Lack of hit stop in an action game can really make you lose track of things.

Different game. They made Donkey Kong Land for the Game Boy, and then Donkey Kong Country for the GBC which was a port.

It's funny how years later it's still one of the best-looking Sonic games, in-game and in cinematics.

Interestingly enough this was the version of DKC that I grew up with. My first home console was an N64 and I didn't experience SNES games until the GameCube era when I became aware of...well, yeah.
