Honestly here's what I would love for the next 3D Sonic game.

• Change the free open world aspect to open linear design. I prefer the "point A to point B" design for Sonic and I don't really like the collectathon aspect of Frontiers.
• Environments that fit Sonic this time. The islands for Frontiers just felt like they were made with basic Unreal Engine assets and slapped Sonic characters onto them.
• Platforming should not rely so much on homing attacks, rails, and springs. Keep it focused on Sonic's abilities. If that means giving him more traversal abilities then so be it.

I'll admit Krystal from Star Fox made me feel a certain way.
...But I think it was her human features that did it for me, not her animal features.

It does feel like the end (or a world war or something) is approaching with everything that's been happening these past few years.

It depends on the context of the game. In a game that looks like an anime I kinda expect unnatural or somewhat cringey dialogue, but even that has its limits (most of KH3 is horrid...). That kind of dialogue would be entirely out of place in a game with realistic graphics trying to tell a realistic story.

And since I feel this topic was made in response to Forspoken...the dialogue is just like Deadpool or MCU stuff, and with those it's hit or miss with me.

Yep. Really enjoyed the original and this remake just seems like a better version. For those unfamiliar, the Ishimura is entirely interconnected and one giant map that can be traversed by foot if preferred, it has side quests and new optional areas, some things were tweaked to be a better experience (like the turret sections), and well...Isaac speaks. I'm one of the people who thought Isaac was made a better character when they gave him a speaking role from 2 onward.

Just coming in here to say my hot take: if anyone indulges in that shit or plays GTA religiously to do all that, they've got some serious problems and they're letting it loose onto a video game.

I dunno if the infected are CG really, aside from the tendrils. They mentioned they used prosthetics and actual actors.

That said the city backdrop did seem very CG, but it looked decent enough. I have a smaller-than-normal HDTV though.

I can see the Ellie backstory being handled exactly like the Left Behind DLC. It'll be the episode when winter starts.

I'm biased as I've played more Xenoblade games than Final Fantasy games.

One thing's for sure, it's gonna take a fucking long time for this story to end. They've made their intensions clear that this will be their back burner Kingdom Hearts while waiting another decade for Kingdom Hearts IV to come out, SE truly gives no fuck about realistic deadlines or how old people get, they're the Togashi's of the video game industry and I hope they crash and burn, now that The world ends with you got a real conclusion and I liked it, I have no further use for them.

Assuming no delays, the FFVII Remake trilogy seems like it'll be done before 2030. The third part might even be coming relatively soon after Rebirth since they've said they've already started work on it back when they announced Rebirth.

They're absolutely going to start with the Kalm flashback and it'll last probably a good hour or so.

I'm not sure where they're going to end Rebirth but I have a feeling they're going to cover a LOT more of the OG game and locations than some of us expect. Do you really think they're going to spend half the game at Kalm when there's only one game left in the trilogy?

Yeah in the first episode without warning they found that guy in the room stuck to the wall. Right away that's a situation where they would have needed to already wear a mask. Would be stupid to have that hanging as a plot device all the time. In the game it's nowhere near as big of an issue.

Maybe in a future season they'll make it so that the fungus isn't able to spread as much as it used to so it mutates to use spores.

Which was the argument we were all trying to make 2 weeks ago when people were going to not watch the show bc there were no spores.

It was a plot flaw in the game, Im glad they didnt add it to the show.

That said I read somewhere that they said spores may return as another method of the fungus spreading, just not in this season. I wonder how they're gonna make it make sense considering that justification.

Wow. That's kinda huge.

That means it's more than just the people who played the game are watchign this.

With viewership increasing from the second episode I have a feeling all the positive reception even got people who didn't play the game interested.

I'm glad this is knocking it out of the park. It gets wildly positive reception, causing more people to watch it, and then from there it gets people to buy the games (over 200% sales boost!).

I mean sure the writing and environment design are better and more unique, and the combat's objectively better, but something about the pacing of the 64 version makes me prefer that one. It was my first one of the series so I guess that has something to do with it as well.

I hate this. I just wanted a normal week off...

That intro in Jakarta was absolutely chilling. So we know that Indonesia was ground zero for the infection but we still have no clue who patient zero was or when it crossed over.

Also I'm totally sold on replacing the spores with tendrils after that creepy shit in this episode.

I have an idea of what it might be.

It might be infected flour that caused it to spread.

Yep, I'm very rarely, if ever, seeing anyone who legitimately enjoys the show. It's just universally bad aside from the animation work.

Hopefully they fixed that boss from the demo then. Having a boss with close-range attacks and kinda just doing nothing when you move just a bit away from it is pretty bad. At least have the boss constantly move towards the player by either running or teleporting just before attacking.

I find it hilarious, honestly. They made the most hated protagonist in the series the one who has a harem AND has him become a dual-wielding swordfighter badass in his adulthood. (The last part is implied with one of the City's Founders.)

I liked a majority of them since I'm a sucker for character interactions and semi-philosophical elements.

End of Chapter 5 to Chapter 6 though...make sure you bring popcorn. Probably the best storytelling in the whole damn series though.

Loved that game.

Dead Space can't come soon enough, I've been itching to play it. And from what I've seen it actually offers a bunch of replayability that the original one didn't.

Probably yeah. He brings a cheerful (not sure if that's the right word) vibe to the game that would otherwise be mostly glum and somewhat depressing.

It's really asking a lot for someone to watch/play something they actively dislike for 10 hours just to get to the good parts.

Doesn't matter how awesome the back half is, if the first half is ass, you can't blame people for not bothering with it.

Some would defend RPGs for starting slow because "that's the nature of RPGs" but like...there's ways to make the beginning hours more interesting, and it doesn't always have to be action-packed sequences. If so many RPGs get trapped in this kind of pitfall then that's an issue and is why the genre in general is more niche than it could be. Not everybody has the patience to sit through a game that seems uninteresting in the hopes it gets good.

It's the SRPG gameplay (mostly the strategy of navigating the best characters for the best situations across various battle maps) and good stories that people liked the series for in the first place.

I mean, if I genuinely believe that about a game I don't generally try to recommend them to just anybody.

Like Xenoblade 2, it legitimately gets good after halfway through the game, like 30+ hours in. But I'm not gonna sit here and say "give it a chance even if you hate it, I guarantee you'll love it after that point!" I'll only tell people to keep going with it if they're having some kind of enjoyment with it to begin with.

I don't understand the point of intentionally trying to rile others up, but go ahead.

I mean, it must be that we're missing a ton of history and context here between these two users, right? Even still it just seems weird to just...take your beef and spread it around to people who have no idea. Just block and move on man.

What's the issue with posting old videos exactly? I feel like you have to look inside yourself if you genuinely get upset and have a beef with someone over that.

I hear the Ike games had excellent stories. Hopefully they do actually get remasters/remakes at some point. It's surprising GCN games haven't been remastered in general outside of like, two of them.

Honestly...yeah. It's not great that working retail makes you wish you could punch someone out, but yeah.

It's even worse when I've seen some people make the worst kind of braindead logic defending it by saying "oh the pedophilia didn't ACTUALLY happen and the character wasn't gonna do it until she's of age." That doesn't matter. Talking to a child and saying anything of that sort is creepy as fuck and would get you on a watch list.

I enjoyed it. Beginning hours needed to be tweaked so it doesn't feel frustrating, as when you get your first ranged weapon you're almost flooded with ammo drops and you have a whole array of methods to deal with enemies, making combat actually fairly fun and manageable.

Also didn't offer much replayability at all until they added New Game+ like yesterday.

I play video games as part of my free time, so it's immediately a no. Not gonna willingly be with someone who shames my interests. I can see it if it's an addiction but it's not.
