Yeah I got that glitch too. It fixed itself after I died. I think it was the moment where Atreus was trying to get back to Sindri's place from home and Kratos walked through the portal, then you get ambushed immediately.

Even though I loved a lot of what they did for the remake and can't wait for Rebirth, I agree they really shouldn't have dialed down the "morally grey" aspect of the main party. Which sucks because Chapter 2 should've really drove home how bad your starting mission actually was, with the added details.

Of course that also kinda goes out the window when the plate drops either way (like, even in the original, it's like "okay, we're morally grey but Shinra's straight up evil").

After detailing them I think I understand why a lot of Smash-likes that other companies make never feel quite right. The 8 hit stop techniques used when every attack lands help make Smash Bros. in particular feel quite satisfying to play.

It was my first RPG outside of Mario (I was a sheltered Nintenkid) and it really opened my eyes to how RPGs can have great storytelling.

Ultimate, it wins purely by roster alone.

I don't know if Smash is ever gonna get an amazing roster like that again. They'd have to do a lot in other aspects to surpass Ultimate (great single-player content and better online is a start).

It's just a matter of inspecting as much as you can, and the game blocks a bunch of ways you can go to sorta lead you in the right direction. That's all.

One of them was gonna be an XCOM-style tactics game by Retro Studios on Wii set at the very beginning, with Samus as a fresh bounty hunter fighting alongside the Galactic Federation and other bounty hunters against Space Pirates. Would've used models and sounds from Prime Trilogy, featuring locations from all across the franchise such as Zebes and Norion. The game would've canonized Justin Bailey as the name of the military commander.

The portable Metroid game by Next Level Games leaked by a former art designer was actually a multiplayer deathmatch game called Project Valkyrie. First phase was on DS and was similar to what you'd find from Prime 2 and Hunters, featuring boss creatures that acted more like obstacles. It was eventually canned due to hardware limitations until they were told to resurrect the project after Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon. Phase 2 was the same idea but were given a console-sized budget, so they were able to more realize their vision. Mid-match collectible upgrades were also added in order to give players advantages, with destructible parts of the environment you could utilize depending on the weapons. Since Kensuke Tanabe still wanted a Metroid game with a story featuring the Galactic Federation, he went on to become director of this project and it eventually transformed into something vastly different: Federation Force.

The last one is Metroid 64, but nothing ever really took off. R&D1 was too busy making Virtual Boy and Game Boy games until Metroid Fusion, and an as-of-now unknown third-party developer declined to make it after Nintendo offered. Miyamoto wanted it made but unfortunately he didn't have a say in the franchise.

I...think I saw Jacksepticeye on there, but he's wearing a red shirt with NINTENDO on it (upper left corner) so probably not him. Kinda weird the huge names aren't on there but I suppose that might be cheating. Other than that I recognize

I don't watch some of these guys but they're recognizable.

It's probably because most of the characters don't look 100% accurate to the games. I think it's fine though. I just wish Chris Pratt cared a little bit more about doing a Mario-ish voice rather than just...his voice. Literally every other language dub I've seen in the trailer has a better voice actor for Mario.
