Aside from siege tomes, the heaviest is 14. With siege tomes I think it's 19

I'd say it's time to BEXP him but he probably doesn't really care about any of those stats (except the last point of SPD)

Yeah I think Lucia's workable. Availability is the biggest issue but that's true of like everyone.

Even not considering her New Years outfit, her base design has ears, mouse trap, mouse on head, flame eyes, spiked collar, two stuffed animals, asymmetrical hair and leggings, FOUR primary colors and two accent colors... It's a lot.

And that's not even getting to some of Sei from FGO's designs like this one, like what the hell lmao

Yes that was my point. She's best when she's let go crazy as she wants, and toning it down at all for her just doesn't fit, which is why most of the characters look sort of blah.

Basically I don't think she was a good fit as character designer the way Nintendo wanted it according to my theory that they hired her and then were "but don't go full Mika". They should have just got someone else.

I think we're misunderstanding each other somehow. I'm saying that e.g. Hakos actually looks toned down compared to Alear, and Alear still looks worse. So it's hard for me to believe that it's a matter of her being asked to tone it down -- I think she's just not a good style fit, as you say.

But it's pretty clear with the last 3 or so non-remake games that Nintendo is trying to take FE from a fairly grounded, if colorful, medieval fantasy setting to a standard JRPG magitech high fashion setting like Tales or whatever, so I'm gonna buckle up and not expect it to get better anytime soon.

Oh abso-freaking-lutely. Look up Hakos Baelz for a Vtuber she designed and Sei Shounagon for the FGO character she designed.

She does very color-explosion, tons-of-patterns, whatever the subgenre of bright and colorful Gothic Lolita style is called stuff.

I actually think both of those are better than at least Alear (and it's not because Alear is toned down by comparison), but really my point was more that her style needs to be toned down way way more to be a good fit for FE. Like down to 0 and then maybe they can go up a little, as a treat.

Yeah that green-haired girl (Merin? Would be funny if it got translated as Merlin) is one of the only female character designs I like so far. The ninja looking girl just before her in the trailer is good too

Yeah it's pretty much only downside, I never found a way to make it work for me at all. I think it also eats a staff use, which is terrifying once you get good staves.

And I'd say that if you want fairly well balanced difficulty that isn't too brutal, Conquest Hard and FE12 Maniac are both very good in different ways. Both are still challenging by series standards while still taking it noticeably easier on you than their incredibly punishing Lunatic modes.

Yeah as much as I shit on Fates, Conquest Hard is a very good level of difficulty.

Slay the Spire is the best of those but it doesn't sound like your type of game if you don't like card battlers. Of the other 8 I've only played two: Blasphemous is great and Iconoclasts sucks, so I voted Blasphemous.

From your bigger list, my favorites are Phoenotopia, Hades, and Bastion but you have a lot of winners there.

I think a conviction specifically for national security-related crimes would hurt him on the balance. They're OK. My memory of using Lethe is that she's basically like trading one deployment slot for killing ~3 enemies effortlessly at the start of the chapter. The slower transforming laguz like Mordecai I never bothered with.

I vaguely recall Rolf actually working out for me when I put effort in to train him. But like, even then he was just a standard infantry archer, so. Questionable value at best.

You can't, which is why you just shouldn't do it.

My point is that it looked bad in prior games too. Remember that they had to do things like have a portrait disappear and immediately reappear to convey that they dodged a sword strike, then immediately put in dialogue like "hey! You could have killed me, flailing around with your sword like that!"

And people like the supports so you can't just "not do it"

I think the ideal is full animation but that's never happening. To me the way 3H did it is as adequate as it ever was

I don't know if 3 Hopes changed it but 3 Houses does have the drawn portraits. It just has the 3D models in the background also. Idk that game is ugly but the supports were never the thing that stood out to me.

Lack of supports in RD doesn't hurt characters like Soren or Elincia, but it definitely hurts characters like Fiona or Vika.

The girl in the very middle of the very first picture is the only design I really have a problem with.

I mean...look at her.

Top right and middle left are great, not a huge fan of the rest. I think in general the designs of female characters revealed so far have been pretty bad.

I disagree. I recently started playing Spider-Man, for example, and even on the hardest difficulty its a complete breeze.

If I was on Normal, thered basically be no reason to use any gadgets or special moves.

I suspect you might regret this decision by the end of the game but maybe I'm just bad.

I find a lot of games do hard very lame where it is just higher enemy health/fewer resources/etc...I just don't find that stuff interesting. It just makes something fun become more like a chore. Give me games where the change in difficulty mostly affects AI behavior to fundamentally change how one approaches the game like most of the Hitman series.

I suspect that most games just inflate HP because that's way easier than changing AI behavior. That said, I wish more games were like Phoenotopia: Awakening, which had a bunch of very granular difficulty settings like "healing items can be used from the pause menu/healing items must be used in battle, where they have a cool down" and "basic attacks cost stamina/basic attacks do not cost stamina"

Trump absolutely boiled the frog as well. He did it much more quickly than you normally think of that analogy going, but he did it just slowly enough that the GOP never abandoned him (until maybe now, but I'm not holding my breath). Last game I probably should've dropped to easy mode was Ys: Oath in Felghana. Instead I just stopped playing it. Oh well!

Usually normal, hard on games I'm good at (but even then typically only on a replay). I really only go for easy mode if the game is so ridiculously overtuned that easy is a typical game's normal.

DeSantis could easily pull off a Bush Jr-style coup (endorsed by the other branches of government and accepted as legitimate by the populace). I'm not scared of a Trump-style coup (200 dumbfucks forming a loose militia and ending up on the terrorist watch list) by comparison.

Design of final evo, but I also almost never pick water because it's practically guaranteed that there will be a water type I like more later on. Not always true with grass and fire.

It kinda depends -- overpopulated in what sense? Physically, no. Environmentally, yes.
