With the Oracles coming to Game Boy online I wouldn't expect remakes anytime soon. (Yes LA is on there too but the remake came out years ago now)

Based on the global wizard schools names*, Im not sure you can blame her character names from the books on her just being young or inexperienced.

*the foreign schools names are all like magic school or something similarly unimaginative in the relevant language. Specifically the Japanese one is named Mahoutokoro (Place of Magic), and the Brazilian is Castleobruxo which means something like witch castle. compare that to Hogwarts, which is evocative without being literal. Seems like she really phoned in the others.

I mean with Cho Chang sure, she wasnt successful yet and maybe didnt have resources to like run the name by an actual Chinese person (?), but at this point youd think she could outsource the foreign naming to someone who actually knows the cultures if shes not interested in doing any research.

also, difficulty aside, I think its easier to just be sort of numb to Nestle or any other big corporations bad acts.
Like its basically impossible to exist in our society without giving money to some corporation thats exploiting people somewhere, and I guess it assuages some of that guilt to just write it off as the systems fault instead of taking personal responsibility for choosing to give money to Nestle or whoever else.

but JK Rowlings just one lady, and her actions are more visible and personal to people + they arent standard capitalism exploitation. Similarly thats why there was a very visible movement to boycott Chik-Fil-A for funding anti-gay organizations. Its not just about being bad, its about being bad in a nonstandard way that cant be written off as the cost of doing business.

What I don't like is people vilifying those that play the game while simulatenously hypocritically ignoring all other questionable decisions in their own life. Are they boycotting Harvey weinstein movies? lostprophets? Nestle? Are they vegan?

nestle is big and harder to avoid, honestly its just easier to boycott one persons stuff than a whole corporation. This is more comparable to not buying R Kelly albums than to boycotting every product of a huge corporation.
