Rey is pretty flawless. She doesn't need Luke's help to train in the force, and bests him. She also some how knows better than Han Solo how to fix his own millennium falcon. "I bypassed the compressor". No one dislikes any part of her personality (contained within the movie), and there's not really anything else for her to overcome or improve at. She kind of just "does". I guess that's fair that the last trait is subjective but I personally think she has the personality of a wet paper bag. The writers often put down the male characters in order to elevate the female ones. Strong female characters often embrace things that typically make strong masculine heroes and femininity is implied to be weak. TCD praises characters like Ridley Scott and Sarah Connor. I've actually seen quite a few critiques on it from female video critics, so it isn't just The Drinker who brings up these points. The perfect example demonstrating this would be the live action Mulan. She's no longer a great role model for women because Mulan in the live action movie is already perfect, she's already better than all the boys, she doesn't have to overcome adversity. First I pour in some canola oil in the bottom of the pot and I sizzle some minced ginger and garlic, chili flakes, cardamom pods, fresh ground pepper. Then I fry ham and onions in that fragrant oil. While I'm doing this I'm boiling my water which I poach an egg in. When my egg is done I throw the water in with the rest and get my noodles soft enough to break apart. The egg is removed and put in my serving bowl so it doesn't overcook and we still get runny egg. In the rest of the serving bowl goes a capful of vinegar, low sodium soy sauce and sometimes Gochujang. Then I round it out with some of the seasoning packet since it's already bursting with flavor and sodium. They had almost a century of comics to use as source material for great stories and now they have started picking the most recent storylines that sell badly and still give their own spin to it. Kathleen Kennedy had a script for the next Star Wars movies given to her by George Lucas and she threw it away. She had a whole extended universe to work with and said nope and threw it in the garbage. Amazon thought they could make Lord of the Rings better than Tolkien (what's canon lul?) and look how rings of power turned out. Then there's The Witcher series, which tries to split up the spotlight which is meant for... You know the Witcher, Geralt. He doesn't even use two swords. They really do be saying fuck the lore.
