I have two poodles, and the are also known to being a "barky" breed, but you can train it out of them.

My bigger poodle wasn't trained very well and barks like hell at any squirrel or other people walking the neighborhood through the window. My moyen poodle was a retired dam and she had a lot of training done by a breeder. She doesn't bark and has no trouble meeting new dogs or people.

Heres a good half minute or so of the usual post-dinner protesting we seem to be blessed with now.

Honestly, the only pain I recall was the night of the procedure, and even then Id say it is more of a general discomfort than any major pain.

I had a few other instances of discomfort off and on for the next week, roughly, but in all of those cases it was either because I wasnt resting, or because I was stupid and wore boxers and not the jock strap.

I had to travel for work a week after, and yeah.. 7 hour drive and I wore boxers. I was sore that day, but the day after I went back to briefs and was all good.

So in addition to taking it easy, I would also say be sure to keep wearing a jock strap and/or snug briefs. Also be sure to apply ice those first couple of days or so.

Part of it is that since you may not experience a lot of pain, if anything at all, you may underestimate things and think you can be more active than you really should be. So Ill say again, just take it easy and youll be fine.

Had one about 3 months ago. All is plenty good now, dont sweat it.

Just do try to take it easy and rest for those first couple days afterwards.

Probably about 500 times a day.
