Dr Wily clearly played more video games than Dr Light and knew what was fun.

It is quite much more entertaining to play as Zero in X6 than X, no doubt

You can really tell that the series was supposed to end with 5, and that 6 was just a case of well hey, weve got the assets/IP all ready to go, why not milk a bit more out if it? Its an unfinished, rushed, buggy and poorly though out mess.

It is, however, still very much a MMX game, and - I will die on this hill any day - has one if the, if not the, best OSTs in the X series, rivaling MMX1 easily.

But I remember the flak and hate far more for X7 upon its release than X6. I get it. It makes sense. You wait all that time for MMX glorious debut on the PS2 and in 3D and get that. I could see being extremely disappointed.

I feel like now though that time has passed and both games get looked at in retrospect, X6 is getting the criticism and attention it deserves. I think it escaped some of it at release due to being quite under hyped, and similar to X5, if not significantly more flawed and weird.
