IIRC he started powerful but had terrible stat growth which made him one of the weaker members closer to max level.

Metroid is boring space shit. It'd make a terrible movie. They have never, even remotely, pretended Metroid has a worthwhile story. And the one time they did, they fucked it up so royally that Metroid fans shit all over them, ensuring that they will never, ever, again, attempt such a thing.

And the reason it'd never make a good movie is because Metroid fans refuse to accept Samus as anything but an emotionless alien killing machine, but having an emotionless alien killing machine as your lead character does NOT make for a good movie.

I'm not against giving Samus more character and I'm pretty sure a significant portion of the fanbase isn't against it either. It just has to be done right. Nobody shit on the official manga for doing this.
And for the record, the reason why I say this idea is perfect for a movie is because it can't work as a Metroid game.

I think that's the case here. The MCU is canon to Sony, by way of being in another universe, but the MCU doesn't acknowledge Sony as existing in any reality.

Yeah I think it's this. There's some multiverse rules in Spider-Verse that aren't in the MCU, as well.

I dont think the reboot you think is will help as much as you think. Ff4 and xmen in their history have never had a movie that made more than thor love and thunder. The mcu brand is the strength that took these movies to billions. Rebooting without brand strength brings you back to the same place. What will fix marvel is keeping whatever the plan was...just make sure every title is good

Iron man, captain america, thor were never bigger than xmen/f4 pre mcu. It was the brand that took them to those heights

Tbh they need writers like Joss Whedon again. Not exactly because of certain reasons of course, but I think he understood how to make compelling characters and stories for comics.

The only way I can see these tax write-off moves make sense is that they probably think they'll make back more from the write-off than the box office.

It's just wild to me. Roseanne, the show, is super liberal. She threatened to move it to another network if ABC didn't air an episode where she kissed another woman, one of the first TV shows to show a gay kiss. There was a full gay marriage in a later episode.

Hell, there's an episode that would be called super woke today because it's about unconscious racism. Her son, DJ, didn't want to take a part in a school play because he'd have to kiss a black girl and Roseanne was horrified by it. It ends with her and her sister at a diner and locking up early when a black guy comes to the door; they're both a little freaked out and lock the door in his face. He gets a little aggressive and they nearly call the police when he tells them he's that girl's dad. After he leaves, her sister reassures her that it had nothing to do with his race, but Roseanne isn't too sure.

And now...she's this.

Yeah...I think something might have happened in that brain of hers. Really a shame. I'm just gonna assume the person playing Roseanne Connor in the old show is not the same person as today because the shift is wild.

At first I thought the idea of a hand possessing people would be stupid but the movie's really well done. Compelling story with Mia and her family and friends, and came with a twist at the end. I was really rooting for Riley to survive and he did, just at the expense of Mia's life.

I've never been steered wrong with A24 films so far.

If you played any Metal Gear game, this is fucking easy babby shit to get through.

Also some RPGs these days have really long stretches of cutscenes. There's a part in Xenoblade 3 that's literally feature-length with very little gameplay, lol. It's a good thing it's like the most gripping part of the story, IMO.

Because both films are really really good. Not a fan of the crunch and harsh work environments the animators were put through though.

Yeah, I really wish the production of these was better. Part of the issue is that the director is a perfectionist and keeps making the animators redo shots.

Yeah "death" of super hero movies is a hyperbole. They would've died years ago if that was the case. I think what people are specifically talking about is the MCU formula and if they keep making mediocre movie after mediocre movies, they'll end up like the deceased DCEU Synderverse. Granted, the MCU is still in a better position than DC movies.

Yeah, superhero movies and shows ain't going away. The "MCU formula" is what's getting stale, because if you'll notice nearly all the well-received MCU movies don't follow the same basic formula.

I'm curious too, because the last one I played was SE on the PC like two decades ago.

Sony keeps telling us how well the PS5 is selling, and Square-Enix keeps telling us how much FF14 has grown. And yet, FF16 sold substantially worse than FF15, and its sales had zero legs. Does that really scream "strong brand" to you?

Tbh very few FF games have sold way more than a few million. So Square-Enix didn't "ruin" the franchise, it just never did amazingly except for a select few titles like FFVII, FFX, FFXIV, and FFXV.

It's been like that at my second to last job. After the like 50th time I had to close by myself I just used my break to cry. Sucks working at such a stressful job.

A Youtuber who does Xenoblade/Xeno series videos said on Twitter that there's an independent wiki for Xeno games to use and to not use the Fandom one, so that's where I moved over to. It's also where I got the news that Fandom is using ChatGPT to write quick "fact" articles that are just made up BS.

Covering Samus's origin story is a perfect concept for a compelling sci-fi movie. Girl is orphaned at a human colony thanks to a Space Pirate attack, is raised by a benevolent faction of Chozo up until young adulthood, joins the military at the Galactic Federation to learn tactical advantages, before embarking on her first mission.

I could even see them explaining why Samus prefers to go alone on her missions, because she keeps losing people she cares about whenever she teams up with others. Largely PTSD from her losing her parents and possibly a love interest and friends at the military. The Chozo who raised her could also mysteriously be killed or disappear during her time in the military which would fuel her worry.

Sandbagging is intentionally playing badly in a way to troll or grief. And yeah, if you stay around a group of item boxes to try to get strong items like blue shells it'll detect that and give you crappy items like bananas, green shells, and single mushrooms. I think choosing to actually continue racing will revert it back to normal.

Lots of changes such as people not needing to be friends in order to join a room and the game intentionally giving you weak items if you camp at item boxes to try to get strong items. Also the ability to freely listen to all the music in the game.

This. The world is so incredibly fucked that if you do a good deed, people will try very hard to find a flaw in that good deed and demonize you for it.

It almost seems like it's not worth it. Might as well let the world burn and die since that's what they want.

This is why the Xenoblade games are better. Sure the stories are toned down on the amount of lore-building and existential elements, but they're designed as games first and foremost.

...That said I only played Xenogears up until the desert town, which wasn't very far at all. I plan on getting back to it eventually. Xenosaga's a different story since I don't have a PS2 and copies are very expensive. I guess I could do it via other means, but...

Yeah, the suit came out of nowhere. That and considering the game was sponsored by Adidas (seriously, it's the only real-life store chain in the game) and that the clothes are sold at the Adidas store, it was probably something the devs had to put in after the story was already finalized.
