That said I have no doubt that will change.

The developers make it sound like this game was born from the idea that they can make something completely fresh even with the existence of Mario Maker, and considering how the Wonder Flower effects change completely in every course they're found in...I don't think this game could've feasibly been DLC for Mario Maker 2. They also wanted to put at least one thing in every single course that would surprise players.

The official developer interview goes into details that apparently the talking flowers concept was taken from an idea that there would've been "live" commentary while playing, and also had a tsundere mode.

She was fascinated by the Jedi and studied up on their tricks and abilities. I think that explanation was in TFA.

Though the fact she can just do it is funny.

The prequel trilogy has the honor of having the only movie in the entire series to make me fall asleep watching it. (Episode 2) So...yeah there's that.

I will agree the sequel trilogy was messily put together, but they're fun to watch for the first time. They fall apart once you start thinking about them though. TLJ does make me curious on what a Rian Johnson SW trilogy would be like, but apparently that idea got canned? Haven't heard anything about it.

SSSniperwolf is now being accused of Commercial Sexualization of Minors. She had a video from 2014 where she was being creepy to underage kids on Omegle, telling them she'd show her boobs if they twerked for her. The video is now privated.

Both games I heard are fairly good.

The one part I don't fully get is the audience and their obsession with the avatar itself.

Just another form of parasocial relationships, which has always been a problem. VTuber avatars are even worse with it because it's considered a "character" rather than a real person so more people ignore boundaries.

This is from the same company who didn't have proper screenwriters for their Disney+ shows and just told directors what to make, until the new WGA terms forced them to do so. Not surprised they're out of touch with their movies.

I imagine sometimes the VTuber aspect is attractive to people who want to stream but are uncomfortable showing their own face. Streams generally do better if there is a "face" to associate with the streamer and a VTuber avatar helps with that.

Why are these spiderman games such a big deal? Spiderman 2 on PS2 was a well received game. It wasn't a headline, though. Is there so little going on with the new consoles that license tie-ins are now the big things on the calendar?

The games are just that good. Gripping stories, engaging gameplay, and of course they look really good too.

At the end of the day, reviews are also affected by subjectivity. Maybe the 8 is because despite all its achievements the reviewer is not 100% thrilled about the genre? I guess one would say "why have him be the reviewer then" but I'd feel like having someone write a review who isn't a superfan of Spider-Man/superheroes and/or open world games would be able to write a more fair review.

In the end I wouldn't hyperfocus and worry about a slightly lower score for a game, especially if it's one I 100% was going to buy anyway.

Does that mean the side content still isn't great? It was serviceable before but I was hoping for something with more effort put into it. It's a bit unfair but Arkham City ruined my expectations of what a superhero open world game could do for side content.

Regardless, I really liked the first two games because of the main story and gameplay and if those are excellent like before (or even better) I'll definitely enjoy this game. One big thing I remember seeing is that they removed the weapon wheel for gadgets and just made them customizable shortcuts, which is great.

No, they barely scratched the surface with the potential for Star Wars. Everything either revolves around the Skywalker family or is closely related to it.

I really dislike the fact that we might lose the ability to own physical games.

Our only bastion of hope in the near future might be ordering copies directly from the publisher/developer websites. Ubisoft recently expressed that they still think there's a market for physical media no matter how small it gets, so maybe they'll do something like that.

I was watching a friend play this game on stream last night, and I gotta say it didn't really look all that interesting. He spent the entire time adjusting map coordinates and occasionally looking at a grainy image of bones or whatever.

Yeah, it just depends on what you're looking for in a game. But the horror of it comes from the knowledge that you're hearing something massive moving down there (and it actively moves through the map I'm pretty sure) and you have no idea where it is.

It's based off of an indie game of the same name. For those unaware, it's a post-apocalyptic setting where all habitable planets and stars have inexplicably disappeared in an event called The Quiet Rapture. A space station launches an expedition to a moon that somehow has oceans of blood in an attempt to find resources and find answers.

Nothing wrong with it, it's just the MK1 trailers generally just seem to show first looks at fatalities, fatal blows, a couple of moveset gimmicks, and that's about it. The true potential of characters isn't really seen until players get their hands on them.

Laser eyes or such doesn't seem to be part of his power set, so he's mostly close-quarters combat.

In terms of his potential...I'd probably wait to see what players can do with him. The trailers for this game seem to undersell what the characters can do a lot of times.

First time seeing the eclipse I think, it got dark like Isle Delfino at the beginning of Mario Sunshine.
