Yuffie is actually an expansion story featuring her only. It's actually pretty fun.

Though what's actually funny is they had DLC for the DLC (unique weapons for Yuffie).

Yeah, it wasn't the art style, just that it could've looked better and more refined on better hardware. Which I agree with, but whatcha gonna do. They did an amazing job with it being on the Switch, honestly.

I want to make a note that the article misrepresented his words. He said that the game itself was brilliant and GOTY material, but that he thought the graphics were the worst part about it.

All I'm thinking is about how the work put into those original shows will now be wasted, even though I'm not interested in any of them. Kinda sucks.

Anything that'll make them the most money since they're a business first and foremost. So since the BotW free open world style is working really well for them financially, they'll keep doing it.

I think Aonuma even said something like the "Ocarina of Time" formula feels too restricting now.

In botw there are remains of castle town in hyrule that match up to Oot and kinda lay out for a definitive map of hyrule. So unless we only play after a major map changing event/catastrophe (ww), or a huge difference in time (if not just scrapping the timeline and/or other connections between games) we should have a similar general map layout.

TotK already renders the previous Zelda games non-canon or a separate continuity, so if they just do that with other Zelda games it's not really that out of the ordinary.

And yeah, future Zelda games aren't gonna be borrowing absolutely everything from BotW either. Future Zelda game with a new art style and new world entirely separate from BotW, just like the other Zelda games, but still retains some core design principles like its freedom of exploration, and there you go.

I adore Metroid and similar games so that's probably why my idea sounds like one, lol. Fair enough to your point though.

I'd also hope for more intricately-designed dungeons and for all your tools to not be made available right at the start of the game. They can still make the entirety of the map explorable and be able to tackle any of the major areas in any order, but have like, dungeon items or something be for puzzle-solving and also double as traversal options to expand your exploring options. Like say for instance at the start, you won't just be able to climb sheer cliff faces, but one of the dungeons hides picks or climbing gear so you can do just that.

I feel like with this, they can keep the Zelda feel while still having a wide open world to explore. You won't be able to go literally anywhere or tackle any obstacle at any angle at the start, but I think it's a good compromise.

This game all the weapons do shit damage. The "real" weapons are the random monster parts. You get like a 6 damage broad sword and attach a +25 damage talus chunk to it and now you have a 31 damage sword.

Rocks only add +1 or 2 damage so they're great for smashing up walls but they're not great for killing enemies.

Yeah, I quickly realized they really encourage you to fight enemies this time, lol. If you don't, you're not getting the good weapons.

That's fair. I hope for the next Zelda game they do away with shrines entirely and just have puzzles built into the environment/caves to find Heart Pieces or Stamina Vessel Pieces.

I mean, they're functionally the same thing, it's just that you have a choice between hearts or stamina.

Okay, so if you've been missing Cryonis, there's a pretty easy solution. Toss an Ice Fruit into water and it'll create an ice platform. I think White Chuchu Jelly also works. Once done, fuse that ice platform with a spear. Now you can create ice platforms along the water by attacking just above the water.

You can also do this with Opals or Water Fruits on lava, cooling off bits of the lava to be able to walk on it.

Don't really agree with making shrine rewards be shitty. Significant side content should give significant rewards, and tieing them to a part of character progression is...well...the most significant you can make it.

They already confirmed that sticking closely to the game is what made the show successful so they're not going to change their approach for Season 2.

You can go to Ganon right after getting the Paraglider just like in BotW...but it's really not recommended, lol. The final battle is way harder if you go in super early.

Probably means like switching out which three characters you have out at a time. Like if your team is Barret, Tifa, and Red XIII, you can switch one of them out for Aerith instead mid-battle for some quick magic spells.

It really doesn't change much. Once your fused weapon is about to break, you can't fuse it to something again to extend the life of it. It'll still be near broken status after fusing again.

It changes in the sense that your weapons last much longer from the start. But yeah, I dunno where the "re-fusing" trick came from, either people playing the preview who didn't quite understand it or it was an earlier build where it was an exploit that wasn't fixed until later.

And about the Sticker Star comparison...it's mostly because Sticker Star didn't really have any visible progression system. Engaging in battles gives you more coins so you can more easily buy stronger stickers, but when the game already gives you tons of coins there's no reason to engage in battles. With BotW's weapon durability system it actually rewards you for engaging in combat regularly as it levels up enemies and also powers up random weapon spawns with various effects like increased durability or power. So you still get a sense of becoming stronger if you choose to engage with its combat.

I usually haven't really cared about Zelda plots but this time...I think it's actually a fairly interesting plot for the series. It's something that would warrant being big plot spoilers I think.
