What *is* noticeable is how much less people worked out back then. Something about the last 10 years has really popularised lifting weights, so people were much less muscle thicc back in the 90s.

You're right, it absolutely shouldn't. Unfortunately, he's not the one at fault for this.

Bottom line for me personally is that, while I'm interested in this movie, I'm also an introverted germaphobe living in a post-Covid world, and it takes a major must-see movie event to get my butt in a seat when I could otherwise just wait a couple months and catch it on D+. Not even GotG 3 had that kind of pull.

Me too. Put a list of all three of them in front of me and I genuinely couldn't tell you which order they're supposed to be in (even though I loved the first one and pretty well liked the sequels).

"Kingdom" at least will be easier to differentiate, since it implies a certain level of advancement in the ape's society.

Pretty good. Really pumped to have GCN DK Mountain back; I didn't even have it on my wishlist because I figured it being a throwback track in MKWii ruled it out. Madrid looks like it could be fun with the soccer stadium and giant balls (giggity).

GCN still got shafted pretty hard in representation overall. Way too many GBA tracks. MKWii got spoiled as hell in representation, but at least they're good tracks.

The DVD release of the Star Wars OT predates the only alteration that ever really got under my skin (Vader's 'NOOOOOO'), so that's my preferred method of watching it if I ever get the itch.

Yeah, SMRPG's lack of difficulty never bothered me tbh. I liked that it was a fun, snacky romp that could be completed in one sitting if you had a free day on the weekend.

And I'm not just blindly defending the classics here; FF 6 is my all-time favorite game, but it badly needs some meatier challenge in the endgame (which is why I appreciated the Dragon's Den in the Advance version despite its flaws; it was nice to have a boss that made even max-level Master Scroll + Ultima Weapon Terra break a sweat).

IX is closer to being flawless from a technical standpoint, but it never quite stirred me to the imaginative and emotional heights that VII did.

Not quite sure why, but the first thing I thought when I started watching the trailer was 'I wonder if they're going to keep Bowser's goofy crying animation?" Sure enough, they nailed it imo.

Bruh, that's literally within biking distance of THE Marin Museum of Bicycling. 500K is a steal.

I thought The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly was just okay the first time I watched it; took another viewing or two to really fall in love with it.

The D.B. Cooper fantheory is pretty funny.

It's not simply that Kang wasn't 'a threat.' It's that, thus far, he's fallen lightyears short of feeling like a multiverse-ending, my-minions-use-Infinity-Stones-as-paperweights-level threat. Ronan the Accuser posed more of an onscreen threat than this guy.

Speaking as a MCU fan with little to no comic knowledge, I've been pretty unimpressed by Kang thus far. He fell far short of a Thanos-level threat in Quantumania, his presence in Loki S1 was the least-engaging bit of that season, and now that s2 is centering around him I'm honestly struggling to find the motivation to continue the show. Kang's threat is very much telling-not-showing at this point, and I sympathized pretty hard with Mobius when he said "that's the big threat you're so scared of?" (but that's also a general issue I have with Loki s2 so far: you've got characters standing around looking crushed and somber that 'billions of lives have been wiped out,' but it's pretty tough for me as a viewer to feel compelled by that when it's literally just a line graph on a tv monitor).

I'm still optimistic overall and will give the MCU pretty much every chance there is to turn things around, but at this point I'm really struggling to envision how "this dude but thousands of him" is going to change that early impression.

The first Transformers (I can count on one hand the times that, as an adult, I've seen CGI work so good that for a brief second it actually tricked my brain into thinking it's real, and this movie has a couple of those instances).
