I'm saying that jokingly. They'll say it seriously. The less evidence there is, the more proof there is. That's what it's like in the surreal, inverted parallel universe inside their pointy little heads.

Ugh, someone in my office has reported in sick with Covid this morning. She'd better not be back in this week. Me and wifey have been quadruple-jabbed, but she's on immunosuppressant drugs for her MS and if she caught Covid (via me, via my coworker) she might have a very rough time of it ... if she's lucky.

idc if the allies came up with the definition AFTER the bombings
The concept of war crimes wasn't a post-WWII invention. It had become a concept in international law (the Hague Conventions) as early as 1899.

Prior to the First World War, international jurisprudence more widely interpreted the provision of Hague Convention IX (1907, ratified by the USA in 1909) against the bombardment of undefended cities by naval forces to also prohibit their bombardment from the air.

I reached the point where I was having alcoholic blackouts. What made me quit drinking was waking up one afternoon with bloodstains on the pillow, the sheets, my face and my (gashed) forehead, but with absolutely no idea how I'd managed to injure myself. I was worried as fuck about what I was doing while drunk.

Yeah, the 1980s are pretty far behind us. The amount of cannibalism at my school by late January, early February was ridiculous. Kids who turned up without a packed lunch would routinely eat the kid at the next desk. It's why no one wanted to sit at the back of the class, it was just too dangerous.

Vampire_Chicken

I just hope they had that many because they promised themselves and each other that they were capable of showing each and every one of their children an equal amount of love and attention, and they do it. You should never have more kids than you're able to love and care for equally. If you're overwhelmed and your kids' upbringing and home life is poorer because of it, and that became apparent by kid #4 but you kept going anyway, then you made bad choices.

Oh, and also: don't expect me to subsidize your sex life. You make this choice yet you're expecting other people to pick up the tab, since you can't afford to have that many kids? Then don't have them. Your kids are not supposed to be an ATM.

My first sis-in-law was a creationist; I remember she persuaded us to read the book Bone of Contention: Is Evolution True? by Sylvia Baker. Her father was a Baptist minister, and she'd grown up in Nigeria; but then so had wifey, who poured, um, some considerable scorn on my sis-in-law's beliefs. Somewhat incongruously, my sis-in-law was studying at uni for a career in the sciences...

Yes: my cousin who, when I was young, was almost the older brother I'd never had. He joined the British Army and did at least a couple of emergency tours of Northern Ireland. I didn't really reconnect with him until after he left the Army and when I did, his personality had changed in ways that weren't good. His experiences in NI had radicalized him and he'd grown sympathetic to loyalist paramilitaries: he was close with guys in the UDA (which, at that time, wasn't an illegal organization) and "former" (wink) members of the UVF (which definitely was an illegal organization, and for good reason).

That's probably why you get promoted over him like 20 minutes after joining the Stormcloaks. He's not really management material.
He brazenly marches into Riverwood in Stormcloak armour, meets with his sister in the open, and announces that he doesn't want to put her at risk. He's not really cut out for undercover missions either.
