This list is stupid, well technically not a full blown date... ice cream or coffee is the perfect little "get to know them" meet up when dealing with a real woman that isn't a fake gold-digger or this isn't a transactional trade-off for sex.

1) Try for both your sake and hers to have a positive outlook and make the most of it.

2) Once it's over, have a nice talk with her and use the fact that you "did it for her" as a way to enter into it to use a bit of guilt - since spending the time not complaining when you hated it was a sacrifice of sorts.

Express to her that you appreciated her intentions, but in the future you would much rather pick your places to stay together.

Yeah, to each their own - I tend to not like curly hair even on white women (I'm a white dude), but there's always exceptions and curly styles that look good on women of all different colors.

No. Really not. Get why you'd think that, but I'm being genuine here. I have no secret "anti-obese" message here. I already know why a good portion of people are obese and think "Oh they're just lazy and need to stop eating" is a super fucking ignorant take. I don't see that sort of fat-shaming opinion veiled in anything I posted. I think you're just used to seeing it in people who do ask these sorts of questions with ulterior motives.

Chucky is pretty high in my book. 1, 2, Bride, Curse and Cult are all pretty good imo. Even Seed has some stuff in it. That'd only leave 3 as the one I remember being just bad. That's 5/7, granted a generous 5 from me.

Yeah, I think that they stop taking themselves seriously and go deep into self-aware comedy-horror helps a lot too.

Was three the one where it's a kid at military school? I thought that one was the worst... and it wasn't unwatchable, just dull and not scary at all.

I've begun walking a lot more for my health as I am getting older and tryin' a keep the weight off... even in my small town it's ridiculous how anti-pedestrian everything is.

It's not even a deliberate design choice, or at least it's not meant to be anti-pedestrian, it's just so motor vehicle-centric in every aspect that it creates a less safe and convenient experience for everything else.

I never judge anyone I see that's obese. Completely aware that there are health conditions or traumas that are beyond their control that can cause being overweight. Feel awful for 'em. Partly because they do have to deal with the scrutiny from strangers.

Hope my topic didn't come off that way because I was just genuinely curious how someone very obese that does eat a lot of food and can't work can afford it all along with a house and car, etc.

It does "come off that way" because honestly everyone's circumstance is different. I'd say quite a few have family members that help support them financially, others inherited a home from parents or grandparents, still others might have had productive periods in their life and now find themselves unable to keep it together and hold down a job... they might be on government assistance or they may be burning through savings and investments.

I think you know that, but you are "just asking questions" here, right?

Hellraiser

Hellraiser is going to cause a lot of division. Some people say only the first movie is good, others say the first two, and some will say a few of the lesser talked about sequels are oddly good in addition to the first one.

However, there are some undeniable stinkers in the bunch. Hellraiser 3 is a disappointment that could have been great. It has some good ideas and good performances like the beautiful Terry Ferral (Lt. Dax on Star Trek: DS9) and Doug Bradley of course... but it just ruins all that with some genuinely goofy shit and nonsensical plot.

Pinhead goes to space, and has some vague connection to a virtual world game development company in two later sequels that were just awful as well. In between those, there are some decent grim noir style sequels that weren't initially going to be Hellraiser movies. One with a corrupt cop is especially good with a really dark ending and some creepy imagery... I think it was 4 or 5.

Because yeah... it is political actually and unfortunately.

Conservatives love a group of people they can be mad at, blame societies problems on, and make themselves feel superior to.

People need to stop pretending like they know what others are eating, what lead them to become obese, etc... without actually knowing those people's circumstances just so they can have a group of people to be angry at and feel superior to.

It could be a physical condition, it could be mental illness, trauma, stress, abusive family, or a number of these or other factors. Hell... I'll even meet you partway and say some are just people with poor impulse control and difficulty with maintaining healthy life or work balances.

Because first off: None of these fat shaming people acting outraged that poor people can afford to be fat care about the people at all, they just like to have an easy target to punch down at.

Secondly: The extent of the concern and advice from this set of people seems to be "stop being fat" and the idea that preventative care or mental health counseling be made available to lower income people is just as big an outrage or dismissed as "sOcIAliZed MeDIcinE!!!"

This is really not a good breakdown.

Calorie intake is much more complex than that. You can eat the same amount of calories from lean meats and fruits as you do from processed bleached grain snackfoods and high fructose corn syrup or refined sugar candy. One will provide better nutrition, and convert less of it's content directly into fat. Also, the fruit is higher in dietary fiber for example, along with foods like beans and whole grain breads.

Also, unlike smoking and using tobacco - people need to eat.

Even a 600lb obese person needs to eat. You can't entirely "live off fat reserves" because you need proteins and other nutrients on a regular basis and your body will start to break down muscle tissue to get it. While fasting can be acceptable to some degree, it's extremely unhealthy to try and starve to weight loss for prolonged periods.

Also, I like Wolverine a lot.

He's just cool and tough, and there's something about a nearly un-killable guy that can still get really hurt and fucked up and has to keep fighting. Invulnerable bricks like the Hulk and Superman just absorb and shrug off damage, but Wolverine bleeds and has bones break before they heal back up. You have to develop a superhuman tolerance for pain over the years.

He had his memories messed with, he was used by governments as an experimental weapon, he's lived a long time and has seen the world change on the scale of a vampire or elf...makes total sense he's a badass loner but also that he never totally loses his sense of human empathy even if it gets tested a lot.

Honestly, superheroes as a whole is a flawed concept whenever you inject even the tiniest realism into it be it modern day surveillance state, the way people actually behave during a crisis or even level of mental instability required to willingly put yourself in harm's way to help people who don't give a damn about you at best and to try and maintain some semblance of a normal life while also doing this, many stories and even meta commentary like to bring up the main things

Being a superhero for years yet not seeing any actual results for your efforts will eventually affect your mental state. There's only so many times you can punch a bad guy put them in jail only for them to either escape and kill more people or despite that guy being put away another dozen or so will take their place and a person you saved yesterday may die the next day to them.

No wonder there's so many inverted stories about heroes giving way to cynicism, fascism ,depression, paranoia, guilt complexes, savior complexes, bitterness and outright resentment towards the world around them and people that inhabit it.

Just a tiny bit of realism and the superhero genre is a whirlwind of dark,drama and angst writing

That's why Iron Man is essentially the most "realistic" and workable according to this breakdown.

His powers are technology based and due to his mechanical genius so he doesn't have to worry about frying a girlfriend with heat vision or breaking her in half during sex. He is incredibly rich and already protected/secure/detached from every day life because of his vast wealth. He is already used to a level of public life and celebrity. He is used to dealing with matters of state from his experience in defense contracting.
