luigi13579 09/27/17 2:01:54 PM #36 | Came in to say Nocturne. It's not *too* bad on the regular difficulty if you take your time. I haven't tried Hard, but I imagine that is going to be a pain. The Digital Devil Saga games are a bit easier, but still challenging at times. The superbosses (the If I'm being honest, the Mega Man Battle Network games can be tough at times. Especially some of the post-game stuff in 3. |

Topic | Do you think the N64 Classic (if it becomes reality) will have both Zelda games? |
luigi13579 09/26/17 3:48:49 PM #9 | I think so, because the N64 doesn't really have that many games, especially when you limit it to just Nintendo games. Would Rare games even be included? Without them, Nintendo will really be struggling for an extensive selection. |
Topic | Which companies have made the best videogame music? |
luigi13579 09/26/17 3:44:45 PM #5 | Nintendo, Square (Enix) and Capcom are probably the top 3 out of the big development houses. I think Konami deserve a top 5 spot too, for Castlevania, Contra, Metal Gear and others. Finally, I'd add Sega, for Sonic, Streets of Rage, Shinobi and many others. Atlus and Falcom are honorable mentions. |

luigi13579 09/25/17 4:26:18 PM #22 | There's not much I'm into to that extent. Maybe Diablo II:LoD. I've played it that much that I know many of the items, builds, tips and tricks, character's lines, etc. The Metroid and Deus Ex series and Pokemon gens 1 and 2 are sort of like that too, albeit not to the same extent. |

luigi13579 09/25/17 4:18:42 PM #32 | Chama posted... Exeggutor is great. Definitely recommend at least once. That 125 Special is pretty damn good (considering it governs Atk and Def in gen 1). With 95 HP and 85 Def, it's pretty bulky all-round. What's a good moveset for it? I'm thinking something like: Psychic Solar Beam Reflect / Substitute Growth There's also Rest, but this is just for the regular game, where you have healing items. |

luigi13579 09/25/17 1:52:59 PM #23 | Chama posted... I used Hypno, IIRC. I think I used Hypno on my very first playthrough. Aside from Mew and Mewtwo, I think Exeggutor is the only Psychic type I haven't had as a permanent fixture in my team (before the post-game) at some point. I've used Gengar more or less as a Psychic type a few times. And Kadabra/Alakazam have had a lot of use too. |

I'm about to do a playthrough of Yellow (in Stadium 2). I'm gonna do a bunch of glitches and other tricks to completely break the gym / town order. I'll get to Celadon/Saffron by transferring a Fresh Water from Stadium, then use glitch city / walk through walls to get to Cinnabar. |

luigi13579 09/24/17 3:19:38 PM #6 | I don't hate them (some of my favorite games feature open worlds); I just feel there's an over-saturation of them nowadays. Open worlds seem to be getting shoe-horned into everything. I have a horrible feeling that Metroid Prime 4 will go the same route as BotW. I think that Metroidvanias are among the games that benefit from *not* having open worlds. They're all about starting off with few options and gradually opening up more and more areas. That's pretty much the antithesis of the open world structure, where everything is open from the start. |

luigi13579 09/23/17 1:05:50 PM #5 | Deus Ex - Awful graphics, stupid enemy AI, cheesy voice acting (while amusing at first, it gets old), awkward default controls (although they can be fully customized) Diablo II: Lord of Destruction - No dedicated item transfer feature, bots/hacks/duping/etc. online Metroid Prime - The long stretch without a save point in the Phazon Mines, not being able to skip the Orpheon at the beginning, the artifact hunt (while not as annoying as Echoes' key hunt, it is a tiny bit annoying) Super Metroid - The save room past the point of no return, having to cycle through missiles / super missiles / power bombs, etc., having to hold a button to run (rebinding it to L/R clashes with aiming / Crystal Flash) |

luigi13579 09/22/17 5:33:36 PM #9 | I still own the Red, Yellow, Gold and Crystal carts myself, so I may replay one (probably Crystal), if the batteries are still working (doubtful). I'm watching a Yellow Let's Play (https://www.youtube.cm/watch?v=K8Hcv8fzUxU) ATM. It's pretty good. I've learned a lot of shit about the game from it that I didn't know. He's going to do a Crystal LP next. Supposedly there's a glitch similar to the Mew glitch in G/S involving Quagsire and a coin case, so I'll need to try that. I think this is it: https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/4a6abq/guide_getting_any_pok%C3%A9mon_you_want_in_gold_silver/ Also, relevant comment in that post: Oh man, if they ever release G/S on virtual console, this is gunna be fun. Saving just incase they do! Thanks for the awesome writeup OP! Well, their wish has been granted. :P This would also seem to make Nintendo's justification for not releasing Crystal a bit dumb, since this glitch works in G/S and not C. |

luigi13579 09/20/17 12:44:20 PM #18 | Good idea. Gamers are pretty reactionary, and review scores can plummet for virtually any reason, so it's nice to be able to see broader trends in review scores. Of course, review bombs *can* be justified, so at least they're not being stopped altogether, and just pointed out to inform you better. |

luigi13579 09/20/17 12:34:39 PM #6 | I must admit, the lack of physical / special split in FR/LG annoys me. It's great to be freed from the limitations of the old system when creating a team. A Pokemon with shitty Sp. Atk. only having physical STABs or vice versa sucks. Another down side of FR/LG compared to D/P/Pt: no online features. |

Anyway, I just look at it as us having 2 great Metroid 2 remakes. If anyone wants to play AM2R, it's easy enough to find. Nintendo were well within their rights to C&D it, whether we agree with it or not. |

luigi13579 09/18/17 5:31:15 PM #48 | 10 mods makes it a tougher choice between Morrowind and Diablo II. For the latter, I'd only really want ATMA, PlugY and one or two small mods potentially. For the former, there are so many mods to choose from. Tamriel Rebuilt is mandatory. Rise of House Telvanni too. Then I'd add MGSO for an all-in-one sound and graphics overhaul, Less Generic NPCs and Westly's Pluginless Head Replacer. Maybe Morrowind Rebirth for extra content and a difficulty rebalance. There was a point where I used Galsiah's character mod, but I've learned to like the default progression system again. I'll throw that in if I can choose not to use it when I want. With those mods, that'd keep me going for a long time, so I'd go with that over D2 probably. I've played D2 way too much over the years anyway, even compared to Morrowind, which I've played quite a bit itself. |

luigi13579 09/18/17 5:17:54 PM #32 | nbda3A4eWFR2 posted... What about selecting say, ten mods total? luigi13579 09/18/17 5:07:00 PM #10 | Does point #4 discount mods? If not, Morrowind (PC). Whoops, forgot about the mods. Uh, I'll stick with Diablo II + LoD (PC) if mods aren't allowed. I could maybe come up with better choices, but they will do for now. |

Topic | if there's one thing that is still good about persona 5 it is the OST |
luigi13579 09/18/17 3:25:17 PM #6 | It's a great game. There's just a habit - and I'm guilty of this myself - of comparing it to the previous games. Yes, there are areas that disappoint me a bit in comparison (e.g. the party interaction / 'hangout' scenes not being as in-depth), but there are areas in which it improves things too (e.g. the dungeons, menus and battle system). There's also the hype and expectation when you're waiting so long for a game. 3 and 4 were the first foray into the franchise for many of us, so they were a pleasant surprise. With 5, that wasn't the case if we'd already played 3 and 4. The soundtrack is fantastic as expected, but I do probably prefer 3's and 4's. Anyway, hopefully there's an extended version like FES/P3P/Golden that really improves the game. That could be truly amazing, and iron out some of the flaws, like all the times you're forced to go to bed. |

Topic | OH FUCK I would pay so mon for a remake of MGS1-4 with V gameplay |
luigi13579 09/18/17 9:10:01 AM #10 | I don't know if I'd spend that much on remakes, especially when I still like the originals. It'd really depend on the extent to which the games are updated. A straight translation into the FOX Engine wouldn't get me too excited, but a complete re-imagining would be nice. An open Shadow Moses along the lines of Camp Omega in Ground Zeroes (but bigger), mmm... If I'm being honest, I probably enjoyed my short time with Ground Zeroes (well, it was approaching 20 hours, which isn't that short) more than my time with The Phantom Pain (at least later on, when I was getting a bit tired of it). I prefer exploring a more densely packed base than running around a large, relatively empty open world. I like a bit more structure to my experiences too (but not so much where you don't have much freedom at all). Even so, I'd still like an expansion to MGSV, adding in cut content, bosses, a proper base or two, etc. Oh, and expanding on the ZEKE plotline. There was some wasted potential there. |

luigi13579 09/18/17 8:01:28 AM #1 | https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/ccleaner-compromised-to-distribute-malware-for-almost-a-month/ Version 5.33 of the CCleaner app offered for download between August 15 and September 12 was modified to include the Floxif malware, according to a report published by Cisco Talos a few minutes ago. Floxif is a malware downloader that gathers information about infected systems and sends it back to its C&C server. The malware also had the ability to download and run other binaries, but at the time of writing, there is no evidence that Floxif downloaded additional second-stage payloads on infected hosts. The malware collected information such as computer name, a list of installed software, a list of running processes, MAC addresses for the first three network interfaces, and unique IDs to identify each computer in part. Researchers noted that the malware only ran on 32-bit systems. The malware also quit execution if the user was not using an administrator account. Ouch. Thankfully it was only on 32-bit systems. I haven't used the software in years myself. It's kinda scary how updates can be hijacked to distribute malware. Usually updating is a defense against attacks, but not always. Also, interesting that Avast acquired the company that makes it beforehand... |
