That's like the opposite for me. I live in a hardcore Christian area. There are more churches here than all the local Starbucks and Subway stores combined and then tripled.

There are literally 7 churches on a single street near where I live but the people here are all degenerates. I'd much rather live around actual christians.

No. Package theft is a growing problem in my town. The police did a sting recently and caught some people. Porch surveillance video is also becoming more common. I suspect it will become as much of an issue elsewhere as more people switch from buying retail to buying everything online.

The only thing that's dated about is are the sets, special effects and makeup. The stories and characters all hold up, though you'll like it more if you like stories with a lot of subtext. Every episode is actually about something.

Just note that the first episode on there is the original pilot, which according to (later) Trek canon takes place a decade before Kirk's command. The pilot is still somehow one of the best episodes of the series and one of my all-time favorites of the whole franchise, so it's definitely still worth watching.

Longest I've ever been awake by my own free will and not drug-induced was about 40 hours. As a natural insomniac I can do 24 pretty easy. The 20 hour mark is usually the hardest milestone to hit, but after that I get an energy burst and it's smooth sailing to 30. I rarely go past that since it's not exactly healthy.

I once went there to see the sloths. There were sloths on the cover of the booklets they handed to us at the entrance. There were sloths all over the gift shops. I was god damn ready to see some sloths, but when we went inside the sloth area was barricaded off and we couldn't go in to see them.

I suppose if you wanted to see some lions or gorillas or something it could be worth it, but not really.

I'm in Oakland. It's no different then any other city in the Bay. Hell, some kid (yes he was literally a kid) in San Jose tried to check me cause I was wearing the "wrong color".

To be fair not all of Oakland is bad. It's just that the bad areas are what usually make the news and give the whole city a bad reputation. The bad areas are genuinely shit, though.

Crime rates aren't nearly as bad as a lot of other big cities, though. It's just really gross.

Worst in my area is Oakland by far. San Francisco is a lot bigger but doesn't have anywhere near the level of crime, rapes and murders, and in fact a lot of the crimes in the surrounding cities are perpetrated by people from Oakland. People here call it mini Iraq because it's basically a war zone. People visibly tense up and become more alert on trains passing through the area since it's become a common thing for people from those stations getting on specifically to rob people.

I'm sure other cities like Detroit and Chicago are worse, though.

9/10 times I'd stop trying and just not show up after the first missed call/text. The only way I would still show up is if it was something super important and they also had a history of never flaking.

I think most people have come to accept that moderators here are partisan and inconsistent. There's really no way to navigate that fact without an overhaul of the mod staff. Since that seems to not be an option, the next best thing someone can do is simply take a break from gameFAQs.

Pretty much. It's just unfortunate when it leads to long-time users leaving for greener pastures.

Ignoring them seems to make it worse since they perceive it as you not being desperate, being in control, etc, which are things that a lot of girls are attracted to. There's no easy way out unless you don't mind crushing them emotionally. If you actually care about them as a friend it's even harder.

I only bothered finishing last season because I had just marathoned the whole series and the season was already almost over. I haven't watched anything this season but I might watch it when it's up on Netflix in another year or so. I didn't enjoy it in single episode bites and it was getting bad even without that.
