Then something like a metal plate flys in from out of the room and smacks one of the criminals in the face to get the battle started. |

I played the original PS2 release but didn't feel like the controls were bad or anything. Then again, I play PS1 and N64 games on the regular so maybe I'm just used to older control schemes. I had multiple opportunities to buy the second game for chump change but then see comments like this... Cruddy_horse posted... green dragon posted...* I played a little bit of dmc2, and while i only did the first mission as lucia, the game seemed to still be pretty fun. ... and pass on it. It's a shame how they supposedly messed the sequel up so badly but it's not like it hasn't happened before. |

If it's something like Super Mario Bros., Contra or Sonic the Hedgehog 2, I do just as well or even better than I did as a kid. However, if it's a game I didn't get to play until I was an adult like Batman: The Video Game or Target Earth, it usually takes a bit longer for me to get decent at it and I end up dying on the first level more than I would more modern games. |

| EnvyFox 10/08/18 12:09:08 AM #28 | Fatal Frame, Resident Evil and Silent Hill were the three that jumped out at me the most when reading the list and, after thinking on it for a bit, I've decided that Resident Evil gets my vote. Well, more specifically, all of the main line games that used tank controls, that Code: Veronica arcade game spin-off, Outbreak File #2, 4 and 7. Resident Evil 2 is still my favorite game in the series but I have to say I played 7 recently and am loving where Capcom is taking the series right now. Sure beats the hell out of whatever 5 and 6 were supposed to be. After that, comes Silent Hill. While SH1 was the first game to legitimately scare me even after I stopped playing it, I haven't played that game since I was a kid and only beat three SH games to date. Of those three, only SH2 was truly spectacular. SH4 was better than a lot of people give it credit for but I wouldn't rank it as high as SH2 and Homecoming simply had no right calling itself a Silent Hill game (though it was mildly enjoyable as an action game). Then there's Fatal Frame. While the first game scares me as a grown man almlst as much as the first Silent Hill scared me as a kid (something about ghosts creep me the hell out), the truth is that's the only game in the series I've played so far and I haven't even beaten it yet. Still, for just one game to be good enough for me to even consider casting my vote for the series solely because of it is incredible and I hear that it's sequel is even better which is music to my ears. Maybe if I can get my hands on more of these games, they might even overtake the Silent Hill series as my #2 favorite. |

Haven't played 9, 10 or 11 yet and I can't say I liked what little I played of Mega Man & Bass but 1-8 are some of my favorite games on their respective systems. X series comes next because those first four games (yes that includes X3) were also a blast but then that sub-series shitted the bed starting with X5 (X8 was alright). After that, I guess I'll lump Legends, Battle Network and Starforce together since I've only beaten one game from each sub-series (64, 5: Team Colonel and Leo respectively) but all three games were very enjoyable to play. I just prefer the side scrolling games more is all. I do own BN3: White and SF2: Zerker X Ninja and hope to have the time to beat them in the future. Finally, there's the rest. Didn't like the first Zero game all that much (though I haven't played it in many years and was a lot more closed minded back then), didn't play enough of ZX to even remember a single thing about it until watching videos of the game years later and never even touched the rest. I can't seem to find it with a simple Google search and a lot of people who are asked about the protagonists' ages either point out that they look too old to be 10-11 (which, as of Sun and Moon proved, doesn't mean anything in the Pokmon world) or they point to the Pokmon Adventures manga which, if I remember correctly, had a large chunk of the Kanto gym leaders and the Elite 4 working for Team Rocket as well as characters like Yellow who have never stepped a toe in the main line games so I'm positive those aren't canon. Also, I'm only interested in their ages when their journeys began. I have no problem believing that, by Sun and Moon, Red and Blue are no longer children. |

That's not just exclusive to the anime characters like Ash and Misty, either. In some of the more recent main line Pokmon games, the main characters now look so old fans thought that they were no longer ten but, instead, around fourteen. I guess GameFreak noticed because, in Sun and Moon, an NPC in the game comes the closest to flat out telling you that your character and one of their friends (can't remember which one) are ten. |

When I stopped being easy to pushover, the name calling slowed down a lot. And physical bullying wasn't even an issue for me unless I was beijg jumped (which stopped before elementary school was over with). I was big, tall, could defend myself (though anyone with even a small martial art background could and still can probably whoop my ass easily) and wasn't afraid to do so if necessary. I find that bullies don't usually go for the ones that stand up for themselves. They go for pacifists and other people they feel are too weak or scared to fight back. Easy targets. |
