I think Breath of the Wild was a much needed break from the formula that's been in place since Link to the Past (find the 3 things, get the master sword)

There were definitely some things they could do better (The dungeons come to mind) but I wouldn't mind them sticking with this free form approach to Zelda going forward. Feels very Zelda 1

The one thing that really turned me off from that game is apparently there are fireflies that guide you to the monsters. I loved actually hunting for the monsters in the old PS2 game, not knowing where you were going to come across it.

I'm going to get Generations Ultimate for Switch soon.

That's a bad argument. The Wii name hurt it more than anything because it seemed like either an add on or a revision of the Wii, and the casual crowd wasn't likely to buy something they thought they already owned.

The name "Wii" and its branding was actually huge for the Wii itself; from the "we (wii) would like to play" marketing, to the two i's being representative of two people together, it was advertised as and succeeded at being a family/friend oriented console, which is why it sold insane numbers to a diverse demographic

But they aren't really counting the cost of the case, the SD card, the power cord, the USB dongle, the HDMI cord, a controller or two and the hassle of doing it yourself and dealing with linux. You can easily spend $50+ trying to be cheap, while hacking a SNES Classic is infinitely easier (really, Ninty should be embarrassed) and prettier, therefore worth the extra $30.

There's a kit that comes with a case, power cord, SD card, HDMI, and the raspberry pi on Amazon for like $35 I think. That's how I built my diy classic console
