The banks noticed that more people care about the new cars they get(keep up with payments, instead of just abandoning the car), so they're more likely to approve them and give you better interest rates. I was actually going to buy a used car, but my ex-wife screwed me over and fucked up my credit with some bills. I took her to court and got it all removed from my name, but the damage was already done. I still could've got a used car, but with the fucked my credit I had, I would've saved barely any money getting a used car over a new car.
