I do not. This strategy talk is interesting and motivated by character. Carl is commanding strategy (intelligent strategy, but he's doing it with a complete lack of social grace), and various people are reacting to it with genuine emotion, both out of annoyance for his attitude, and out of strategic thought about how Carl may be viewed as the controlling factor of the tribe.

...That first hour was amazing. All the emotion and personality was great. Angelina bitching out her tribe for betrayal, tears over letters from home, Christian being amazing at the challenge, Alec being amazing at the challenge, Gabby breaking down at the challenge, Carl getting super cocky alongside Villangelina. The only shitty part was wasting time on Nick getting an idol.

33. James Lim (Survivor: Ghost Island, 15th Place)

I dont have a whole lot to say about James, because admittedly, he was a very quiet and dignified character. When he fucked up during the second immunity challenge, he took responsibility and was willing to take the fall if need be. But his tribe gave him a second chance, and he went on to play a huge role in pushing for the Morgan boot, aka the best episode of the season. It was a nice transition, honestly. James went from honorable guy who was okay with falling on his swordto cutthroat willing to backstab two opposing alliance to ensure the best outcome for HIS game (which also hurt Libbys game as well, for an additional win.) Unfortunately, he got swapfucked in the worst way and was an easy target for the Naviti girls, whod already bonded with Michael over him. Still, he was nice, and slightly more interesting than your average Ghost Island cast member.

34. Jacob Derwin (Survivor: Ghost Island, 19th Place)

At the time of his elimination, I ranked Jacob as one of the worst characters of Ghost Island. I hated how much he made the first two episodes of the season revolve around him. However, after watching the whole season play out, while I still find him slightly annoying, I cant deny that he was one of the more entertaining personalities in this awful cast. In just two episodes, you had Jacob pouring the tribes rice into his sock in search of an idol clue, playing mind games with the other tribe to get sent to Ghost Island (possibly saving his ass at the first tribal council), making up a story about an idol, revealing that story to be false, and somehow getting blindsided despite there being literally NO reason for them to keep him around. It was just a bumbling trainwreck in a season that DESPERATELY needed bumbling trainwrecks, and Im okay with that.

35. Patrick Bolton (Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers, 16th Place)

Take notes, Bradley. THIS is how you do an early-season villain. Were introduced to Patrick as the strongest guy on the abysmal Hustler Tribe, and of course hes an outright jackass. Hes loud, hes obnoxious, hes boisterous, and of course he feels completely secure because theres no way the tribe decides to vote him out over the weak women and Ryan, right? Hell, he even had a pre-game relationship with Ali to further insulate himself from any consequences of his personality.

But as expected, the Hustlers Tribe sucked and blew two of the first three immunity challenges. Patrick was spared the first tribal council because unfortunately, Simone was a quintessential first boot that happened to win the first challenge. But then the tribe won again and Patrick felt invincible. He had all the guys still around, plus his buddy Ali, and Lauren was a clear outsider on the overwhelmingly young tribe. He was so confident that he never saw it coming when even his own friend turned against him, leading to a unanimous vote of 4-1 that miraculously kept Lauren safe. And Patrick was PIIIIISSED about this. He was super bitter in his final words, and held a grudge in Ponderosa, apparently. THAT is the mark of a great villain. They last a few rounds, think theyre hot shit, and get brought down to earth REAL quick.

Yeah, as I said in the prior topic regarding Soylent Green...Soylent Green was INTENTIONALLY sexist to establish its world. And yeah, the female characterization of a lot of the earlier films on the list was...lacking, to say the least. But Planet of the Apes was the only film we watched that felt sexist without that element being intended as part of the story the writers were telling. I dunno, Nova's inclusion and treatment is...odd in that way.

36. Haleigh Broucher (Big Brother 20, 7th Place)

While the men of FOUTTE were deeply flawed, the female half of the alliance was just far superior in every way. With that being said, Haleigh still pales in comparison to the hilarity brought about by Kaitlyn, Bayleigh and Rockstar, so here she falls, just above the midway point of my list. In an alliance of crazy, emotional players, Haleigh was the rational one. The Aras Baskauskas if you will. Sure, she had several instances of breaking down in tears in the Diary Room, but that last month was ROUGH for her. She had to spend six straight weeks watching her friends get picked off in difficult situations (she thought Bayleigh took the blame for her Hacker win, Rockstar went out on her HoH, Faysal blew up FOUTTE once and for all, Faysal got booted with her on the block, Scottie came back and got booted with her on the block, and finally she went home.)

All that being said, for as much as I liked FOUTTE and as nice as Haleigh was, she had some flaws that keep me from fanboying over her outright. For one, in a season dominated by a bland, normal alliance, perhaps having the final member of FOUTTE be the one who was the most normal and rational (and most likely to have been in Level 6 is not for Swaggy roping FOUTTE together) wasnt the best for the season as a whole. By her boot episode, Haleigh had spent several weeks isolated with Faysal in her showmance, and subsequently isolated because she was too calm and mopey about her shitty position.

For two, Haleigh wasnot great for FOUTTES success. Both Kaitlyn and Faysal targeted members of the alliance (to their detriment), and Haleigh knew both times yet either A. did nothing, and B. encouraged them. She was just passive to the point of damaging her alliance, because she lacked the strong personality needed to set anything straight. And when she won Hacker, she didnt tell anyone and made several dumb blunders (nominating Tyler instead of an easier opponent to beat for veto, picking Kaycee for veto, taking Scottie off the block instead of Rockstar.) This is the problem with FOUTTE as a whole: its difficult to root for them outright because of how much they sabotaged their own games. Personality-wise, they were fun, but those personalities led to Level 6 domination.

37. Keshia Knight Pulliam (Celebrity Big Brother 1, 10th Place)

I cant believe how long its been since Ive eliminated a Celebrity Big Brother cast member from this list, yet here we are. Keshias two-round stint on the show was a whirlwind. She went from playing second fiddle to Omarosa (and getting blindsided with the Chuck boot as a result), to getting nominated and becoming the target somehow, to being saved by Ross wanting to fuck over Shannon, to melting down and begging to go home because she missed her baby. It was honestly hilarious, and it kept both Omarosa and Shannon in the house for another round, so I was more than happy to accept such a hilarious elimination. Also, she burned up productions big gift bag twist in the first round, and anyone who ruins dumb twists is A-okay in my book.

38. Domenick Abbate (Survivor: Ghost Island, 2nd Place)

In the immediate aftermath of Redemption Island, I ranked Phillip in my top 100 characters of all time, and ranked Boston Rob in the top half of the seasons cast. Those opinions would certainly not hold true today. I mention this because Im fully aware that, given time to really reflect on Ghost Island as a whole, I probably wont rank Domenick this highly. But in a season so devoid of life and personality, he just stands out so much more than the rest of the cast that I CANT fault him for at least crafting himself into a semi-interesting character.

Yeah, on paper, Domenick ate up a lot of screen time and he was definitely a character in the same vein as Tony or Joe Mena (producers really want to find that new Tony), but at the same time, its REALLY hard for me to blame Domenick for the season sucking. Sure, he was a big character, but who was gonna overtake his presence? So much of this cast was made up of bland mactors and sheep, and thats on the producers, not on Domenick for taking advantage of that position he landed in.

The Dom/Chris rivalry, one of the few highlights of the season, doesnt happen if Domenick isnt the overbearing personality that he is. Domenick being overbearing is what led to him treating Sebastian like shit at the final six tribal council and ultimately cost himself the game. Hell, Domenicks bro relationship with Wendell felt nice and genuine (and it didnt feel over-the-top and obnoxious like a certain OTHER bromance that weve already covered on this list.) Overall, while Domenick had all the makings of a character Id hate (the overhyped alpha male), I enjoyed him in the context of a miserable season.
