I've seen multiple L4D clones(Vermintide being the best) where you're fighting against a bunch of AI controlled mobs.

I've seen plenty of versus games that have four players on one side but then just a single on the other.

I haven't seen a single one that does one team going for the objective and one team setting up ambushes and trying to stop them. It's such an immensely fun concept gone to waste.

I've been reading the Marvel backlog from Disassembled on(haven't done Marvel Cosmic much yet so I haven't read annihilation, but that's on my list). Disassembled was fun but largely a bunch of different stories, not one huge cohesive one. House of M was a great story, but its tie-ins were largely disappointing and don't add to the feel. Civil War was....Civil War. Great idea, godawful execution. World War Hulk was a lot of fun, but still felt pretty short and the tie ins didn't add much to it.

But Secret Invasion is awesome. All the tie ins lead directly into the major conflict, and it actually feels like a conflict. We're seeing several fronts of the same war, each tie in presents its own engaging story, and the whole thing ends up feeling like an awesome experience.

Hopefully Dark Reign and Siege are as good. I doubt it, but hopefully.

Malazan is pretty bad. It's definitely not my favorite but I mention it because it does have a very dedicated fan base.

Well, there were those Narnia movies, they made at least one Eragon movie and I think planned to adapt the whole series but it bombed, Mists of Avalon and 10th Kingdom got miniseries, a bunch of garbage D&D branded movies, those are the ones that just spring to mind but there were a fair bit more. You probably don't remember because they were, for the most part, so bad.

Ah I remember eragon and other YA ones, I just attributed them more to chasing the Harry Potter dollar. Fair enough in dnd ones.

Want to do an epic fantasy you can reliably adapt under a single movie? Lies of Locke Lamora.

Want a series with enough epic scale to bankrupt your company? Malazan book of the Fallen.

There are many options as good as or better than game of thrones.

I'm pretty sure companies have been trying to get everything on this list adapted for years. Malazan I'm not sure of, but the Gentleman Bastard series has been optioned forever.

I'd love love love a Gentleman Bastard series though. Each book has been amazing in its own way.

A lot of people have PSVR. Something like 5 million IIRC. It's nowhere near full-on console sales numbers but decent enough that a must-buy game like HL:A would have a very high attach rate if Valve wasn't being Valve.

Probably has something to do with psvr being a LOT more limited and less powerful.

At this point, vr is a legitimate gaming platform. It can create an experience like no other, and people have shown massive amounts of potential.

The only thing really needed is a major studio to put out a big budget exclusive that feels like an actual game. A full campaign, just like you'd see on in any console, bit built from the ground up for vr and available nowhere else.

It could do for vr what half life 2 did for physics and make it a mainstay of the genre.

ok I remembered there was some controversy between Planet Coaster and another coaster game, couldn't remember which was the good one lol
There are three big ones now.

Planet Coaster is arguably the best, with features including... park scenery ratings, security staff and camera equipment and pickpockets, hotels, restaurants, staff training and fatigue, and a few other features. Though you can play it pretty straightforward it does have a huge emphasis on creating things. It does integrate with the Steam Workshop so you can download new blueprints too, if you're like me and just want to build and manage the park without micromanaging every single piece of fence.

Then there's Parkitect. It's got that isometric perspective like the classic Rollercoaster Tycoon games (though with more ride options and cleaner graphics). It's also a really solid choice, just not as expansive as the fully 3D Planet Coaster for various reasons. I do like that they add supply/stock as a mechanic - you have to set up distribution between your warehouse and your stalls and stuff like that.

The one to avoid is Rollercoaster Tycoon World. It was garbage at launch, it took a year for them to add certain save features, building a rollercoaster caused the game to crash half the time, it had a fraction of the prop options that Planet Coaster or Parkitect have (and when they *did* add props it was literally like five things for Halloween... embarrassing). Plus it just looks like garbage.

Thank's for that! I really like Planet Coaster and am strongly considering it. I'm playing Software Inc right now, which is a spreadsheet heavy corporate software development sim. I'm amazed so far, especially since what I'm playing is just early access.

It would be interesting to see, but I dont think thats the direction Disney or Marvel wants to go. They already changed the creepy villainous Skrulls into misunderstood, family-focused and quirky good guy refugees. Presenting them, even if its some rogue faction, as the opposite of that would be confusing to some audiences and criticized by a whole bunch of so-called woke media. It would just be easier for them to continue with depicting the Kree as the real threat to defeat.

I should clarify, even if they don't want the skrull invasion I want their next big event to cover a whole phase.

Unlike any of the other phases, which are building up the personalities and relationships of the characters while they deal with only loosely connected threats, they should do a phase where every movie deals with the same main threat.

Like, say it starts with Gotg finding a rogue skrull faction and it being revealed at the end that the faction has a plan in motion involving a major invasion of earth. The next movie involves the skrull invasion being revealed. Each movie builds the story and offers revelations before the final one concludes it.

Gotta be honest, I'm often a little vague on what people mean when they say a piece of art is "feminist." Both the writer and director say they created it to be a metaphor for the fear of getting laid for the first time. I'm a modernist, so I'd argue that yeah, that probably makes it feminist, although not particularly successful at it.

It's not just that, but that it does a great job of showing women in a variety of roles without making it out to be anything out of the ordinary. Carpenters, electricians, martial artists, etc etc.

Making a film so hamfisted that you can guess the gender of the director isn't a merit.

That's not what I'm saying. The movie gets attributed as "feminist" because it was directed by a woman and because the original script was written by a feminist. But the shooting script was changed to take out most of the parody elements of it and it was directed in a way that completely downplayed those elements.

So if you look at something that's supposedly feminist with a female writer and a female director and it's indistinguishable from a ****ty slasher film of the time period, how can you make an argument that it's feminist?

It's feminist because it's showing competent women in a variety of roles usually only portrayed as men.
