Oh yeah, I bought a movie on YouTube a long time ago when only "standard" edition was available. They emailed me recently to let me know it was upgraded to the 4k edition.

Cool. That's good to know. I still have no clue what to train people in. They're all kinda doing whatever... unless they have the 3 stars in something, then I try to set a goal on that and get them to use that weapon (I'm still not sure what it means though? They seem to be the same as a regular person? I've unlocked on star on a few characters.). I have a surprising number of people turning into fighters though. Gotta tone down on the axes.

I'm kinda annoyed with the "Explore" option in this game. I think you need to do it once per month (in-game month), BUT IT TAKES FOREVER. I hate this running around completing tasks for people. If I wanted to do that, I'd play Animal Crossing.

I really like the support system in this game though. So much better than Awakening and Fates (though some characters' gimmicks get super annoying really fast). Sometimes I think a skit is about to end, and then it continues! Awakefates would've ended it there for sure.

tl;dr Still on the tutorial missions and figuring it out. Tutorial missions are basic, but there are new mechanics for you to figure out or relearn.

I'm still in the early "tutorial" missions. Just got the new battalion mechanic. Not really sure what to think of it. You can assign a small battalion to travel with a character, and they can do a special attack, which may prevent the enemy from moving, attacking, or some other effect I haven't encountered yet (the enemy can do the same to you). It affects an AoE too, so adjacent units are affected.

Special attacks are back (similar to Shadows of Valentia). They burn up more weapon durability (than a basic attack) when used (the basic axe special "Smash" seems kinda OP? Edelgard starts with it). If weapon durability drops to zero, the weapon is just weaker. You can repair them (though I haven't unlocked that facility yet). Magic has limited use right now (like 5 uses per battle), but they restore fully after each battle.

The map designs are pretty basic so far (but again, I've only done like 3 or 4 tutorial missions). It's just been routing or kill the enemy commander. No recruiting (AFAIK, you do all of this in the monastery after you build a certain amount of skill on your avatar).

I'm not seeing the weapon triangle in effect yet, I think (and they haven't explained it). Weapon weight is a factor. There are new stats (not sure what they do yet). Each character has a unique personal skill. Overall, still figuring out the new mechanics, but the maps are pretty easy. There was one where you could have gotten swarmed if you weren't quick about it.

Just started doing this instructing stuff. I don't know much about it yet, but I still like it a lot. I like that each character has their own strengths, weaknesses, and potential to excel at a new skill (something they haven't invested in training, but somehow you as their professor can see that they will be good at it).

Impressions so far:
-I love that they got rid of character customization; that always made cutscenes SO weird by obscuring the avatar's face with random objects (very annoying in Fates).
-The avatar seems to be mute? Why? He speaks when he levels up or defeats an enemy. But when other characters talk to him, they project some kind of personality and response onto him. Feels very fire emblem HEROES. It's really annoying for me. I'd rather they just make an actual character with their own personality, backstory, and motivations. Trying to put the player in the game feels so weird.
-The avatar is basically Naruto, but with a loli dragon inside him.
-I don't understand why the avatar is being recruited to be a professor. Blocking the bandit's attack seems to have really impressed all three kids for some reason. Edelgard looked like she was ready for the attack when Byleth steped in. Maybe this will be expanded on when I get further, but everyone is sus AF to me now.

That sounds amazing! I have loads of things I do during downtime at work, but it doesn't come that often.

I already prepped a list of places to try for the next three months (I try one new restaurant each week). My next downtime task is to look up some vegetarian dishes to make. Usually I just roast them with some olive oil, salt, and pepper because it's simple enough to do, but I want to get some recipes I can be proud of making. I'd also get into Duolingo again.

I get summoned for jury duty like every odd year; it's like clockwork! The farthest I made it was to the courtroom where the judge gives a very brief overview of the case. She said the trial would last about 4 months, and I couldn't do that since I was in school at the time. She let me go with no questions asked.

Every other time it was either I didn't have to show up or I sat in a room for an hour with a bunch of other people.

Edit: Oh, but if I am feeling helpful, I do some basic file maintenance. People just saving their crap all over the network! Making it look like their dang messy desktops.
