I had an Alcatel phone that allowed me to set it to vibrate only. That way I could get notice of what was happening, and be on the lookout for the described kid/kidnapping adult/car if it was in my area, without the damn noise.
Now I can't do that. I still leave it on, just in case. But I really wish I could set it to vibrate only.

If there's room on another lane, I change suddenly and slam the brakes, letting them pass me, and then quickly get behind them so they can't try to get behind me again.

Also, if pressing the brakes when they are behind you is bad, what is the advise if your street on which you have to turn is coming up? Take the turn at high speed, without slowing down?
